Pet care experience
I’ve cared for dogs, cats, horses, bunnies, hamsters, and other sweet creatures for nearly my entire life, and have raised / cared for / trained dogs regularly for the last 20. I love animals, especially those who need a little extra patience and love. I’m very comfortable with dogs who require regular medication, help getting around, or who need special attention due to illness or old age. Spending time with animals and helping them enjoy the world is a true pleasure.
Reviews
Maggie really went above and beyond watching my cat. She’s excellent with communication and really cared about the welfare of my kitty. Thank you again!
Maggie took absolutely wonderful care of my senior girl. My dog, Piper, is an old, opinionated, declining (wonderful) gal with quite a few specific needs. Maggie came to stay at my house with Piper and took absolutely superb care of her. She sent me tons of photos and videos and updates because I think she sensed it's what would put my mind at ease, and she just made it clear Piper was in good hands. She really went the extra mile for my girl (and for me), and I recommend her without reservation.
Maggie is a fantastic human being and even better with our dogs! I am so excited to know each other and trust her with my gang and home.
Maggie is so amazing with our pups, and with me! We connected last minute, and I am so grateful we did as they took incredible care of our dogs for a a house sit and walk later in the week. Our shy dog warmed up so quickly and he’s a great read of character. We were navigating a personal situation and Maggie’s flexibility and genuine understanding was so appreciated! I would highly recommend them!

Safety, trust & environment
I communicate clearly with clients about the type and schedule of care their pet needs. I always prefer to hang with dogs and cats in their home where they’re more comfortable, but can also invite dogs who get along with cats to stay at my house. I am happy to drive dogs to one of the many beautiful places nearby to walk, hike, or swim, or just go for a stroll in the neighborhood. I follow the preferences/instructions of the owner closely for crating, sleeping, training, interactions with other animals, etc. - you know your pet best! I remain extremely attentive to dog behavior when out and about so I can prevent any dust-ups or scary moments. I am calm in a crisis and work with clients to understand any special concerns or anxieties that (you or) your pet may have :)
Information Maggie C. would like to know about your pet
Whether your pet has any special needs and contact info for their vet (just in case!); whether they have any aggression or anxiety issues (not a problem for me - just helpful to know ahead of time); and whether your house has walkable areas nearby vs. needing to drive your pup somewhere close by to play.
A typical day
We can go for a walk / hike / swim in the woods, play in the yard, stroll the neighborhood, or relax on the couch — It all depends on what your dog is most comfortable with and excited about! I do know quite a few dog-friendly local spots, though!

Availability
Until my senior pup passed, pet care was a cornerstone of my schedule. Two+ long walks a day, play/hikes, consistent feeding and medication schedules. More recently, I volunteer at local rescues and help out with friends’ dogs and cats whenever possible. Fortunately, my day job is entirely remote, so it’s easy for me to spend the day hanging with your pet between walks and mealtimes.
