Pet care experience
I started caring for pets through Rover in Fall 2023. I've cared for almost all cats, and one dog so far through this app. Some of the cats have been elderly, taken meds, had special diets, or been varying levels of spicy. So far I haven't had a house I wouldn't return to. 😀 I've had and loved animals for my whole life, and helped care for friends' and families' pets since I was a teenager. For 6 years I cared for a cat with diabetes and feline herpes, which caused chronic dry eye in one of his eyes. I was able to inject his insulin and give him eye-drops twice a day at his meal times. That was over a decade ago, so I would need a refresher to feel comfortable injecting someone's kitty. For 2 years I cared for an elderly black lab during holidays while the family traveled. She was the sweetest girl. She didn't require too much extra help except sometimes to get up if her back end was hurting. She is the only dog my kitties ever liked. Most recently my current cat had a luxating patella (sliding back knee) that required surgery. It was a long recovery but she can walk and run now. I am still working on her extra weight from the time that she couldn't be active, and had to eat extra food to take the pain meds. Other than that, in my (almost) 32 years, I've had 6 cats and 3 dogs. I've trained 2 dogs from puppies (basic commands and manners).
Reviews
Second time watching my cat and I could not be happier! Mage is a gem and is so wonderful with her.
Mage did a wonderful job checking in on my cats while I was away! She sent daily pictures and made sure to keep me updated with how they were doing.
They took very good care of my cat who can be anxious and spicy. I appreciate their patience and the regular updates on how my cat was doing.
Mage was so wonderful at communicating with us, sending photos and updates of our old lady cat. We could enjoy our holiday knowing our kitty was in good hands! 10/10 would definitely recommend Mage for pet sitting :)

I currently do not live in a space that would be appropriate to bring extra animals into. For the time being I would be able to care for cats and dogs in the client's home, to feed, give love to, exercise, and then leave. I could do this up to 3 times a day. I can go for short walks with small/medium dogs, or play fetch with a large dog in a fenced in yard. If your pet has special needs, we can discuss if it is something I could reasonably handle.
Information Mage J. would like to know about your pet
I'm brand new to Rover and unsure of some of my answers to their questions, if you have a specific question about my experience or comfort with something feel free to ask. I am not living in a space to take animals into my home but will be available for drop-ins as I navigate this new job.
A typical day
I am new to the area so I don't have any specific places I like to walk, so let me know if there is a nice park or something near your house! Otherwise we will just walk the neighborhood a bit. If you have a yard or enough space inside to safely play we can do a little fetch and or running around, and some snuggles time before I run off.

Availability
Currently I have only my 2 cats and a mostly open schedule. I'm an extremely anxious driver and will not be able to go anywhere too far or with too much traffic.
