Hi there, my name is Maegan! I am currently a lead Veterinary Technician at the Emergency Veterinary Clinic in Niceville and Destin. I have a bachelor's degree in Zoology, and am working towards my Veterinary Technician degree and certification. I have been working in the pet care industry for a total of 11 years, plus medical experience for 5 (3 of those being emergency-based). In that time, I have been a doggie day camp counselor that would play with, and monitor, 10+ dogs at a given time, and care for them while boarding with us. During my camp counselor days, I was also in charge of general grooming (such as nail trims, baths and paw/sani-trims). I have volunteered at nature centers and have experience with other types of animals as well! While I am a full-time veterinary technician, I want to extend my animal care outside of work and help pet parents as much as I can! I am one of the lead overnight technicians on the weekend, which allows me the rest of the week to take care of your fur-babies! I love keeping pet parents updated when they are away from their babies, so as part of my care routine, I will keep owners posted with photos and videos multiple times a day :) My menagerie at home includes 3 dogs, 4 cats, and other animals, such as small mammals, reptiles and fish, so I am well-versed in a variety of animal species and breeds. I pride myself in learning all about any specific animal (or breed) I work with or own, to better provide them and their parents with the best care possible!
