I spent a year working in Wilderness Therapy where canine therapy became a large piece of healing for struggling young girls suffering from complex developmental trauma. I was continuously impressed by the dogs ability to offer judgment less care, affection, and security all while helping to calm human nervous systems. This is when I realized that there can be so much to learn from pups, and that they deserve to be valued and cared for in a way that honors the work they do in their connection and friendships to people. While engaging with your dog, I hope to learn from them, attune to their needs and create safety and security as a means of giving back to them for the silent work and care they give to their families, especially during such a chaotic and difficult time.
