Pet care experience
There hasn't been a time in my life where I haven't lived in a house without a dog or cat. I'm a lover of all animals. Growing up I've had numerous pets and my parents always made me take responsibility of "mine." I've rescued three sweet dogs and an entire litter of kittens myself and have been the primary caretaker of them until I moved off to college. I have had experience with administering medicine orally to dogs, handling dogs during seizures, and taking care of elderly dogs. I've grown up with all sizes of dogs and am comfortable with any breed. My husband and I moved to Defuniak in the past 2 years with our lab mix, Millie, and last year rescued our rambunctious cat, Cheeto. We've also recently had another addition to the family, Mila, a 4yr old Goldendoodle. Mila is still getting accustomed to our family and figuring out a routine. Millie and I enjoy daily walks around Lake Defuniak. It means so much to me to care for animals and I'd love the opportunity to take care of yours whether it be a simple walk or a weekend stay!

Madison is amazing!! We were visiting from out of town and needed our elderly, finicky dog let out. She came by for a meet and greet and our picky old man loved her! When she came to let him out, she spent a lot of time with him and followed directions to a T! So glad to have found her. We will gladly use her again- the best! Very responsible.
Excellent job with my cats. My little sick one is doing well under her care. I think my cats like Madison more than they like me. Food was full and little was maintained very well.

Our back yard is fenced in. We have a friendly dog and cat to keep yours company. I have a large dog crate on hand if needed. I will treat your fur baby as if they were mine!

All breeds are welcome, as long as they are good with other dogs (and cats for boarding day care visits). I would love to know any quirks they may have. How do they react to other dogs on walks? My Millie freezes like a statue until she can sniff a passerby and play! Anything peculiar about feeding time? Millie likes to be fed outside and alone so she can't be bothered. I will do my best to accommodate your pet's needs, just let me know in advance!
A typical day
There is plenty of space around my home for walks and fun! We have a fenced in back yard that's good for fetch or rolling in grass. We live a few blocks from Lake Defuniak so we will be able to take walks around the lake!

Availability
I work from home during the week with a fairly flexible schedule where I can pop in and out! I can work with you to schedule walks or drop-in visits around any meetings I may have during the day. During boarding or day care, I'll be able to spend all day with your furry friend and make lots of time for outdoor breaks. Sometimes I'm even able to take my work outside if it's a beautiful day!
