Pet care experience
My husband Trevor and I are dog lovers and know what it's like to meet the needs of very different dogs. We both grew up caring for our family dogs (a chocolate lab, a sweet German Shepard mix, and a collie, to name a few) and have learned so much since rescuing our sweet girl Sophie. I (Madison) work from home and have a flexible schedule that allows me to be available whenever your dog needs me. We rescued Sophie, our sweet lab mix, shortly before pandemic shut downs happened. She came to us with fairly severe separation anxiety, a lot of energy and a very strong prey drive. She has always been the sweetest girl and absolutely loves dog and human friends, but we had to work hard to help create structure, fun and safety in her world! Sophie's separation anxiety has gotten a lot better, but because of how much she loves of being with her mom and dad, we rarely leave her at home alone, and your pup will be treated the same way!

Madison took amazing care of our babe. We are very anxious pet parents and were immediately at ease with her and her husband. They know what it’s like to have an anxious pup, and treated Tilly like their own. We got updates and never felt like we had to worry.
Madison, Trevor, and their dog Sophie were great hosts to my pup. Madison was extremely communicative from the moment I reached out to her to inquire about the possibility of boarding. She asked questions that showed she was really conscientious, did a great meet & greet so the dogs could get to know each other, and took the time to respond to all my questions as well. During the stay, I received updates once or even twice a day with great photos of the dogs having fun. My pup seemed very happy and well taken care of. I highly recommend Madison and will definitely reach out to her again.
Madison and Trevor and their dog Sophie offer a home away from home for Winston. They send great photos and updates and I can tell Winston loves being with them.
Madison and Trevor and Sophie took wonderful care of my senior dog! They made sure she got exercise and was careful on furniture and the stairs! She also made sure I got lots of pictures and updates as I was very nervous to leave my baby! I was also worried bc my dog is old and doesn't super enjoy the company of other dogs how she would do with Sophie but they were so sweet together and Sophie was so respectful of her space. I'm so greatful I found them and will definitely use them again!

We work hard to make sure your dog feels comfortable in our space and around our dog Sophie. Your pup is welcome to be on our furniture or bed, or to have their own space if they prefer. Our yard is not fenced in, but we have a long lead that pups can be attached to in order to run around in the yard with Sophie. Our lab mix Sophie is e-collar trained so that she can safely run around on our secluded 1+ acre lot! We live in a quiet neighborhood with lots of safe space to go on long walks and also live near Eno State Park if your dog likes an adventure in the woods! We can accommodate potty breaks as frequently as needed and walks up to 3x/day.

**Please note that we only accept dogs who are up to date on vaccinations, including Bordetella, and are on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.** Please let me know if you dog has any special needs and how they like to be introduced to new dogs. We want to make sure your pet is happy and comfortable in our home. For some puppers that might look like having permission to snuggle up on the couch or the bed, but we know some pups might need more structure to feel settled in. We are happy to provide a more structured environment if that is what your dog is used to (reinforcing any behavioral patterns you are working on at home like staying on their "place" or working on basic commands, sleeping in a crate etc). Just let us know! :)
A typical day
We live in a quiet neighborhood with lots of smells to explore every day! We can play in the yard on the long lead or play tug of war inside. We can go for a quick or longer walk in the neighborhood or venture to Eno River State park for some real adventures!

Availability
I work from home M-F and have a very flexible schedule that allows me to adapt my day to meet the needs of the pup. Weekends are usually spent at home or visiting parks or dog friendly breweries with our pup Sophie in tow. We are happy to accommodate your dog's preferences to be social or stay home. :)
