Pet care experience
Hello! I recently moved to St. Augustine, where I grew up, after finishing my MFA abroad. As someone who has grown up in a family that has owned primarily cats, dogs, chickens, and horses it is hard being away from home and not having access to any lovely little critters! I have over 12 years of experience in house/pet sitting with past experiences being up to three weeks long and households of up to six animals. I have cared for animals in a wide age range and have training knowledge and basic pet first aid skills.

We had a wonderful experience with Madison watching our 2 dogs while we were on vacation in St. Augustine (visiting from NY). Our one dog is sweet but obnoxiously barky when he's excited and he also needs medication. Our other dog, not as barky but is wary of every new person and will even growl initially. He warmed up to her quickly though! He has never warmed up to anyone outside of my husband and I! We booked Madison for 3 days and needed her to come in twice during those days for a few hours at a time. My husband and I were in meetings/dinners and our timing kept changing as to when we would need her, and I was pretty sure I had completely confused her a few times, but she was on the ball and kept up with the changes and was sensitive to the dogs needs to these changes as well. She asked great questions and asked for clarification when needed. Myself and my dogs would be so happy to have Madison as their doggie sitter again!!! Highly recommend!
She is so sweet to both pets and humans! ? She was punctual and took great care of our dogs. She also sent some pretty cute pics during the day. We will definitely ask for her help again on our next day long outing.
Madison has a real passion for animals and is a skilful carer of them. Very trustworthy and respectful. Can recommend without hesitation. PS. She also has a talent for drawing, so owners are even known to receive custom portraits of their animals!

I have handled animals with all kinds of personalities and special needs so I am not wary of dealing with sensitivities, anxieties, or medication administration. It’s important for me to know about these things during, or before, a meet and greet so I can properly prepare for my time with them.
A typical day
Personally, I think it is important to mimic your pet’s daily routine as closely as possible so they feel at ease and comfortable while you are away. Therefore I tend to ask for an outline of their schedule so I can follow it while your pet is in my care.

Availability
Having a furry friend is such a special thing, however it is not always easy to spend 24/7 with them as other matters may get in the way. Whether it's late work hours or a well deserved weekend away, you should know your pet is being treated with the same amount of love and care which is exactly what I can offer! I love the quality time I get to spend with these sweethearts getting to know their quirks and personalities.
