I treat any pet like family

Pet care experience

Making Tails Wag Since 2018! Hi and nice to meet you! My name is Madison and I graduated from Monmouth University with a bachelor's in history and elementary education. Please read through the entirety of my profile before booking, as it contains my policies and information you may want to know. I am insured through Pet Care Insurance. I am a member of Professional United Pet Sitters (PUPS). I have earned my certificate for Cat and Dog First Aid (including CPR) through the American Red Cross. I also completed the course for First Aid Dog Choking through First Aid For Pets. I can communicate in American Sign Language for those who may need. I've had a wheaten terrier (2009~2021), Bailey, and helped take care of him all his life since he was a puppy. I now have a rescue puppy, Finnegan (Finn), who is an Australian Cattle Dog, Chihuahua, Bichon Frise mix. He was rescued from 3 Hearts 4 Paws, NJ 5/7/21. I currently enjoy working with Finn and providing him basic training (also teaching him a few tricks here and there, including the pet communication board/buttons!). I started taking care of other peoples pet's around 15 years old, starting with close family and friends to get experience. I will make sure your pet is taken care of like it is my own. While you're away from them, they will still be getting love just like if you were with them. Whatever the concern or worry might be, please let me know, and we can try to work something out. I look forward to hearing from you and meeting your pet(s)! Mission Statement and Goals When caring for your pet(s), I will treat them as if they are my own, like family. It is my goal to effectively communicate with you, keep all pet(s) safe, provide personalized and loving care, and ensure all pet(s) needs are being met in hopes to establish peace of mind for all pet parents. ***By booking with me, you agree that any photos I take are owned by me, Madison K, and may be used on social media platforms. ***Please make note of my cancellation policies for each service. Full refunds (100%) are subject to my terms and the time before the booking would begin. Please inquire if you need any further clarification. ***PLEASE NOTE: I will NOT walk any dog in lightning, extreme heat, or when the sidewalks are icy for your baby and my own safety. Will cancel WALKS for these reasons, but will still bring them outside for as long as we are able to stay out and to use the bathroom. I will automatically do a 30 minute drop in instead of a walk if the issue comes up. Extreme heat is up to my discretion, as some dogs (short nose or brachycephalic syndrome) may be more sensitive to heat versus others. As soon as I notice the heat may be getting to your baby, we will go cool off inside. I always make sure your pet is safe and comfortable before I leave. ***Please have your pet wearing the proper tags (ID tag with contact information, vaccines, etc.) on their collar when I am taking care of them. I can only care for pets that are up to date on all shots, vaccines, and flea/tick medications for the safety of all other clients pets and my own. Please make me aware of any treated or ongoing medical issues that may be a safety/health issue to other clients pets or my own. Please understand this is for the safety of everyone. ***Any booking made less than 24 hours in advance (of the time the booking should begin) may require an additional $5 late booking fee (adjusted to the cost) to ensure I can fit you in my schedule and make any necessary arrangements I may need to make. ***NEW CLIENTS PLEASE SCHEDULE A MEET & GREET AT LEAST 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE BEFORE THE REQUESTED BOOKING BEGINS. NO SERVICE WILL BE AVAILABLE WITHOUT A M&G! There is no cost or fee for meet & greets. Please be advised that if an extended period of time passed since I've last seen your pet, then a meet & greet will be required again, before the requested booking begins (new or repeat clients). ***Holiday Rate is in effect for the following 2024 dates: January 12-15, February 14, February 16-19, March 17, March 29-April 7, May 24-27, June 5, July 4, August 30-September 2, October 30-31, November 27-December 1, December 22-January 1 (2025)

Safety, trust & environment

Safety, trust & environment I ensure that meet and greets are detailed and any potential questions, comments, or concerns are mentioned. I will always have pepper spray/mace and/or dog repellent spray on me for your pets safety and my safety. For dog walks, I will come with my own leash. I like to keep the care similar to how your pet is currently comfortable and familiar with. I will always give fresh water to your pet(s) before leaving and bring in any mail and/or packages you receive. You will be provided updates with pictures while you're away (videos posted online). Please leave an emergency contact and vet information within the about/care section for your pet(s) on Rover.

Information Madison K. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know if they're friendly to other people and to other dogs or animals (do they run after every squirrel they see?). What do they not like, for example, do they have any area that shouldn't be pet (specifically towards rescue pets if they have a sensitive area)? Favorite toys & treats? Any medical conditions I should be aware about? Any allergies (seasonal, food, etc.)? Please inform me of any and all food allergies or sensitivities as I carry treats on me. For pet parents- do you want text updates with pictures while I'm there (my Rover cards, completed and sent to you after I finish the visit, will always include pictures)? How often would you like to be updated? Emergency contact information? Are you walking your dog in any specific way you would like me to be doing as well? Are there any current/ongoing training or commands you would like for me to use to keep consistent for your pet(s) (this includes if your pet knows certain commands in a language other than English. I will try my best to learn those commands, please make me aware ahead of time and please be able to provide/confirm proper pronunciation at meet and greets)? Any areas to avoid in your neighborhood? Any additional information I may need to know? Please let me know if there is any additional care that may be needed, such as watering indoor and/or outdoor plants. I have both indoor and outdoor experience with plants.

A typical day

If local to me, the dog will enjoy a walk around the water front! I do walks in your neighborhood as well, where your pet is most comfortable. I will play in the backyard/inside with them, throw a ball, or play with any other toys they may have. I'll sit down and pet them and make sure they are as comfortable as possible while you're away.
