Pet care experience
As a lifelong dog owner, I have had the privilege of experiencing the many joys and rewards that come with owning a furry companion. Currently, I share my life with an almost 3-year-old mixed breed. In my commitment to providing the best care possible for my dog, we have undergone both puppy and companion dog training. This training has given us the skills and knowledge to communicate effectively, reinforcing good behavior and minimizing bad habits. we are currently in class to become a certified therapy dog team, allowing the privilege of visiting various schools and nursing homes. Throughout my life, I have encountered and successfully managed pets with higher needs such as blindness, diabetes and cancer. I have confidence administering basic at-home care, including injections, blood glucose monitoring, and prescription medication. I also have experience with female dogs in heat, and feel confident in managing those specific needs. I have many years of experience pet sitting, from potty breaks at lunchtime to multiple-week in home care. Along with dogs, I have cared for cats, hamsters, and the occasional fish :). Madison is great! Always on time for her visits with Quincy and taking care of him in such a manner that he is always super happy on those days when I see him after their visits. Madison always sends the photos, with the details of their activity together which is always pleasing at the time I receive them.

Each dog and family is unique, so I try to be as flexible as possible when considering each pet. Many factors depend on not only the owner's comfort level, but the existing training of the dog, and it's general behavior. I enjoy going on adventures, at the owner's comfort, including the beach, hiking paths, etc. I have a fully equipped car kennel, for safety while traveling. My house is also pet-safe, so we don't use any harsh cleaners on the floor, or fragrances with harmful essential oils. I have many different management tools, including x-pens and kennels for safe space if needed, longlines, and safe chews.

I ask to be notified of any reactive behaviors, to be able to properly understand the needs and prepared to manage them appropriately. Any pertinent health information is also helpful. On a less serious note, it is always nice to know their favorite treat/toy :).
A typical day
I love to go on long walks and have been recently loving SniffSpot. For higher-energy pups, i like to find a spot to play chuck-it and frisbee. Older or less energetic pups love to go on beach strolls, and spend an afternoon people watching at a local park.

I am a current senior in college, and have most of my week free and available. I am out of the home for 4-5 hours a day in total, usually spread throughout the day.
