Pet care experience
I've been raised with at least 2 cats and 1 dog in the house since I was born. Even as a child I had hands on responsibilities helping take care of our pets. I have my own dog, a 7 year old german shepard + boxer mix who is my primary responsibility. I've taken part in assisting in training all of our dogs. I also have some experience in delivering medication. Overall I've loved animals my whole life, and they've loved me.

Maddie has been taking care of my two little nervous dogs as well as an older Golden Retriever with such care I never have to worry when I leave town. She is so compassionate with my older dog with her special needs I don’t have to be concerned. I also love they are very attached to her so I know they feel loved when I’m away. Thank you Maddie!

I am unable to care for client's pets in my own home, so I let the client lead in terms of instructions and care. I will follow any instructions the client has, as I'm aware everyone cares for their pets a little bit differently. I will play with and feed the pets during home visits and can give them a brushing if needed/ wanted. On walks I'll go the distance the client typically takes their pet and will clean up after them.

It's important to know the general temper of your pet ahead of time and how they interact with strangers so I can get a feel for them before I meet them. If there's anything you'll need me to do, like give them medication or brush them, let me know ahead of time where I can find everything and leave me detailed instructions please.
A typical day
I love to play with dogs and get them as tired out as possible, whether this is strictly through playtime or add a nice long walk, I'll make sure that the dog is active and having fun. I love to take dogs for long walks and letting them spend plenty of time sniffing around. If there's a local dog park, let me know! I'll be happy to take your pup to socialize.

Availability
I am currently taking online classes so I am easily mobile with a flexible schedule. I am typically out of the area every other weekend or so. My weekend going-away schedule is pretty flexible, let me know if you have a weekend in mind and I'm sure we can work something out together.
