Caring for all animals like my own.

Pet care experience

I’ve cared for the fur babies of my own, and of friends & family, since childhood. Animals have always been an important part of my life - actually, life doesn’t feel complete without them. I grew up primarily with cats, but adopted my first doggo, an energetic three year old pit mix, this year with my fiancé. She is our baby. When I first meet a new cat or dog, I am gentle and quiet. I let them come to me when they feel ready. Treats are always a good ice breaker! I love to play with pups & their favorite toys. When out on a walk, I am always aware of our surroundings and give firm, clear direction. If your pup needs some space from other dogs/dog walkers, no problem - I’m used to adjusting the walk route to give my own dog more space.

Madeline dog sat/housesat for me several times over the past few years. My dog doesn't like people and has to take multiple pills per day. Madeline handled everything perfectly and I know that my dog was in excellent hands while I was gone. She updated me with photos and texts throughout my trips and would let me know when my dog refused her pills (she's a difficult dog) so that I could tell her a secondary plan. She also made sure that my dog was walked and having a general good time. I'm very sad that Madeline recently moved out of my area and is no longer available for dog sitting but I highly recommend her services.

Madeline is my go-to for pet sitting. She is excellent with both cats/dogs and she is trustworthy. Be rest assured that your pet is in good hands with Madeline, she is professional and is an advocate for the animals.

Safety, trust & environment

I have my own cats at home, so I can offer walks, drop-in visits and pet/house sitting services at this time - no boarding in my home. I can do basic grooming/bathing, nothing fancy.

Information Madeline S. would like to know about your pet

Before walking or sitting for someone, I’d like to know any specific words and motions used to direct and communicate with their dog. For walks/potty breaks, does your dog have any favorite places to go? Should I avoid close contact with other dogs or people? Do you want your dog to remain on-leash, or would you prefer some off-leash time? What is your pet’s favorite treat?

A typical day

I live in the Multnomah Village area and within a 15 minute walk to 3 great places for dogs to run and play. For cats, getting them some exercise with a feather toy or “cat dancer” is always fun.
