Cat & Dog Lover - Works From Home!
Pet care experience
I grew up around both dogs and cats, as my family always had at least one dog + cat at any given time when I was a kid. I've worked as a pet sitter for multiple families in the past and really enjoy bonding with new animal friends. I live in Durham and work from home (M-F, 9-5ish, with a typically flexible time for lunch break) with my two sweet feline sons. I used to live with my sister and her dog & two cats, as well as other roommates with pets--so although I currently just have cats myself, I have lots of experience as an adult with doggos, too! When it comes to pups, my communication style tends to be along the lines of "firm but affectionate," with clear commands and expectations but lots of petting and love too.

Safety, trust & environment
My cats are both entirely indoors, though I do try to open windows and the screen door whenever the weather is nice enough--because they love to get up close to the breeze and to get better views of their birdwatching! Both my cats are very affectionate (enjoy pets, scritches, even belly rubs once they trust you) and am a big believer in pampering your pets because those are your babies.
Information Madeline P. would like to know about your pet
I would like to know if the pet has any issues with new humans, and if so, what can be done to mediate these issues. I've worked with pets who aren't as sociable - with other animals and/or with humans they aren't as familiar with - so it isn't a deal breaker at all, but I would just want to be given the info and context ahead of time.
A typical day
Since I've lived in the Triangle for most of my life, I know lots of great spots to take dogs for walks and adventures! When time allows, I prefer to go on longer dog walks, for hikes along the Eno River in Durham or to other local trails.

Availability
I work from home full-time, Monday through Friday 9-5ish and tend to have a good deal of flexibility in terms of working around my existing meetings and priorities (and can also work from someone else's home as needed, so long as there's decent wifi!). Since I do have my own two kitties, I am unlikely to take on sits that comprise 3+ nights in a row of staying at the house (e.g. I'm fine leaving my cats to themselves overnight for a night or two consecutively but prefer not to do beyond that) but other than that, I'm open to most types of pet care!
