New to Rover but not to animals!

Hi, my name is Madeline! I have 9 years professional experience caring for exotic animals of all species and sizes, but I've been caring for pets even longer! I currently own 2 cats, but I've owned dogs for my entire life up until the passing of my sweet pit bull in 2024. I have experience with dogs with anxiety, geriatric dogs, and reactive dogs. Pets are not just pets; they are family members. I understand the desire for peace of mind when you put your fur baby in someone else's hands. I will definitely love your pets like I love my own. I have experience caring for animals of all ages, from babies to seniors. I'm willing to walk, play, medicate, etc. to ensure your animal's life and schedule is disrupted as little as possible. I am also willing to help you improve/maintain walking/leash skills and basic obedience behaviors. I believe the foundation of great care is great relationships with pets and clients, and I look forward to working with you!

Madeline has held numerous positions as an intern and fulltime employee as an animal caregiver at zoos, aquariums, and animal sanctuaries working with all sorts of animals; so, she is used to the highest level of responsibility when it comes to animal care and is highly trained to spot when something seems “off.” In these roles, she became accustomed to administering medications, designing enrichment activities to keep animals active and engaged, etc. She also owned a rescue dog that faced huge anxiety issues. Through this, she developed a skill set to help him to conquer his challenges. She ended up creating the most loving, well-socialized dog. I would not hesitate to entrust Madeline with the care of my pets.

A typical day
I absolutely love to walk dogs and work with them on confidence and comfort on a leash. Any place within walking distance is fair game, and I am even comfortable supervising dogs at dog parks once I get to know their personalities. For your cat, we'll play with all kinds of toys or just relax and hang out - whatever fits your for baby!

Availability
I currently work full time M-F, but have availability after 4pm for drop ins, walks, and/or play. I even take same day bookings! I have additional time on the weekendsfor multiple walks, drop ins, and house sitting. I can be available in the mornings if absolutely needed, so just reach out, and we can chat!
