CERTIFIED, INSURED, & EXPERIENCED!

Pet care experience

Hi there! My name is Maddy, and thank you so much for coming to check out my profile! 😊 I am excited to share a little bit about myself with you and potentially have the honor of taking care of your furry family member! I am 24 years old, attending online school for a degree in zoology, although I haven't figured out what branch EXACTLY I want to focus on yet... I love ALL animals so much, it's hard to choose. 😊 - the only animals I am NOT experienced with are horses, sheep, and very large exotic animals such as venemous snakes or lizards, alligators, sloths, Joey's, etc; I AM experienced with lesser exotics and reptiles such as monitor lizards, all non-venomous snakes, foxes, etc. - I am able to assist in the natural birth of kittens and puppies (manipulating the baby in the uterus, helping birth, helping clear lungs from fluid after birth, basic afterbirth care) - I am able to bottle feed newborn kittens, puppies, goats, and cows. - I am able to Syringe feed newborn birds and rodents. - I am able to Bathe and groom your dog or cat, or give reptile/shedding soaks to snakes and lizards - I am able to train dogs. - I am able to administer medicine to all types of animals, both orally and using a Syringe. - I am able to perform CPR and the heimlich on dogs and cats - I am able to perform first aid and emergency medicines to ALL types of animals. - I am able to transport your pets to vet appts, walks in Midland forest or anywhere else you might like me to take your dog on walks - I am willing to walk your cats if they have a harness and are harness trained - I have experience with all types of dogs; working breeds, hunting breeds, toy breeds, protection breeds, you name it. - I wont just exercise your dogs physically, I will provide mental stimulation and games/puzzles for them! - I will make sure your dog gets personalized exercise based on its breed/size, age, and any health issues. For example, if you have a 9 year old golden retriever, I would exercise with a short walk and swimming, and then a lot of nose games, because older goldens have joint problems and swimming is a great way to exercise them without putting too much pressure on those hips. If you have a 5 month old chihuahua, I would give them two short walks a day, 15 minutes apiece, because at that age these guys only need a little 30 minutes daily, and breaking them up is a lot easier for their bones and joints to handle as they grow into adults. It's important to be able to differentiate the care needed for individual dogs, and also cats, based on their breed and age alone. I pride myself in being able to do this, and it's truly just so much fun to learn about the differences all animals have! I love meeting new dogs and cats that are a breed I've never seen in person before. Now that youve got the main points, Here is a little bit about my background in caring for animals! I have been caring for a plethora of different animals since I was 5 years old. My dad was allergic to most everything, so cats and dogs were out of the question. When I was 5, my uncle gifted me a rabbit named "Hoppy" (I was 5, remember!). Hoppy and I were the best of friends; he had a harness and leash, and I would set up little obstacle courses for him in my yard, and run him through them like a dog! It was such fun, he was a wonderful little rabbit. He lived to be 14 years old, which is about 2 years more than a Netherland Dwarf's lifespan! It was very, very hard when he passed. However, throughout Hoppy's life and after, we had so many other friends. Hamsters, turtles, fish, corn snakes, ball pythons, cockatiels, rats, a Brazilian short tailed possum, a hedgehog, a couple cows, ducks, chickens, quails, even a rescue skunk! Eventually we ended up in a position where our family was able to adopt cats and dogs. It was wonderful. We had a Maine coon named Oliver, an orange tabby named Mitch, and two fluffy little black cats who were brothers that we found on the roadside as newborns; we fostered for a little bit, bottle feeding and raising; before sending them off to their new homes. Very hard but very rewarding. Eventually we also adopted three dogs; Beau, a cocker spaniel. Leo, a yorkshire terrier. And Casey, a belgian malinois. Beau and leo were really my mom's companions, and Casey was my best friend. When I moved out, I adopted a german shepherd named Audrey. At this point, I had also adopted a siamese cat named Aella, and a bengal named Akron. It was the best of times in my life, the four of us were best friends, and I knew this was the life I wanted to desperately. My home was full of love and joy! And then, the worst happened. In 2019, my dogs were stolen directly out of my homeml. I spent two years looking for my dogs, looking into filing charges, etc. It took four years, including a very large move to Midland, for me to heal to the point where I could adopt another dog. So, due to that experience, I make it an absolute and utter priority to keep your pets SAFE. SAFETY IS NUMBER ONE, ALWAYS. Your pets will NEVER be left alone unless they are in their crate inside of my house, or in a pet-proof room where there is NO CHANCE for them to injure themselves in any way. Your pet will NEVER be left in the car alone if transported, and they will be buckled into their seat in case of an accident. You pet will NEVER be off leash unless in the safety of my home, or my fenced in yard. We have security cameras surrounding our yard, as well. My own dog and cats are all microchipped and have chipolo GPS tags as well. My home has security cameras surrounding the property, we have pet cameras inside the home as well, and we have deadbolts and a lot of security. About our family: Maeve is a golden retriever, and as I write this, she is just about to be a year old on July 4th!! What a fun birthday. She is a love; gets along with all dogs, big or small. She absolutely adores cats, and is respectful of their space. She will not chase, bark, or harass them. She is also familiar with birds and tank critters; rodents, fish, reptiles, etc. Maeve might be young, but she is well behaved and is a dog that would be a VERY good influence on any new puppies that are training. Maeve is of course up to date on her monthly Heartworm/intestinal dewormers, flea/tick/mosquito, Rabies, Distemper, and Bordatella vaccines. She is also spayed. Right now we still have Aella and Akron, but we have added two to the mix; Asper, and Arsen. They are bengal/siamese mixes, and the first and only litter between Akron and Aella. They are going to be 2 years old this coming January. Every one of them are up to date on dewormers, flea/tick/mosquito, Rabies, Distemper, and Bordatella vaccines. They are ALL neutered and spayed, including the parents. Thank you so much for taking the long time to read my profile! I know there is a lot of information, but it's extremely important for you as a pet parent to know everything there is to know about the caregiver you are hiring, so you can truly enjoy your day knowing your baby is safe and loved! I know that the first time I used a sitter for Maeve, I was panicked for many reasons. This is a huge reason I am so passionate about my profile content, and the opportunity to make you feel comfortable and happy when you're leaving your pet in my hands. Thanks again for taking the time to read, and I hope to work with you and your fluffs soon!!

I've worked with Madeline a few times and she's been amazing every time. She's always on time, works great with the cat and makes sure that the cat is well taken care of. She also goes above and beyond, such as washing the feeding bowl after the cat is done and vacuuming around the litter box. I can always trust her and go on my trips without any worries. 100% recommend.

Madeline is great! So responsive and gives lots of updates with pictures and videos which is very much appreciated. Went above and beyond expected by cleaning up the yard after dogs went potty. I highly recommend and will definitely be using her going forward!

Safety, trust & environment

If I come to your home to care for your pet, I will make it a point to go above and beyond; if I see something messy or out of place, you can count on me to tidy up a little. I will ALWAYS check in before doing so; sometimes people would like to clean their dishes themselves, or want to make sure everything is being put away properly and in the right space. Some people just don't want you touching their things, which is understandable! While I am in your home, I will absolutely treat it like my own. Having a clean home is extremely important to me, as I have spent the last two years slowly renovating a fixer upper house I moved into! I know how stressful it can be to come home to a mess, so rest assured that there will NEVER be one left in your home. Safety, as I said so many times, is a huge priority. This means creating a pet friendly environment in my home as well as yours. - If I am transporting your pet, they will be in the Backseat with a seat belt (provided by me). - If we are out on walks I will make sure they don't pick anything up off the ground, and I make it a point to wash my own dogs paws after walks- I will do the same for your dogs, too. - If they get dirty, they'll have a bath with permission from you. - If they are hurt, immediately to the vet if it's not something I can take care of, although I am trained in almost all emergency medicines for cats and dogs, other than to perform a surgery. - When i leave your house I will make sure all windows and doors are locked every time. - I will not take pictures of your pets or home without permission, unless they are update photos sent directly to you. - Your pet will never be left alone in the car or outside, EVEN in my fenced yard, just to be safe. - Cats will not be going outside unless they are already harness trained and you have asked for them to get some time outside. - On walks we will NOT be saying hello to anyone else; unless you have a puppy that needs socialization and is not aggressive. HOME ALONE: All pets will always have eyes on them, unless there have been previous arrangements made with you allowing the dog to be left in my home alone. I am fine with leaving cats in my home unsupervised in the pet safe room, with check ins. However, if your dog is going to stay in my home alone for more than 2 hours, I'd be more comfortable with a crate provided. This is regarding a scenario that you would like to book with me during a night I am working; I only work 8 hour shifts, so no matter what, your dog would not be crated for more than that time. AGGRESSIVE CATS: I have a lot of experience with feral and aggressive/fearful cats. I will take the time I gain their trust no matter what. I'm okay with getting scratched. Biting is okay as well, if I have to administer medicines; I am able to handle it. But, I need HONEST and CLEAR communication regarding your pet's personality. If you have an aggressive cat, I am 100% willing to help you out- there is not much I will say no to, but I need the truth so I know what to expect. AGGRESSIVE DOGS: I also have experience with aggressive dogs. If your dog walks okay but needs to cross the street when another person or dog is coming, thats okay. I am not comfortable with letting strangers on the street meet or pet a client's dog, because the animal doesnt belong to me- so I will most likely be crossing streets regardless if someone comes our way. However, if you have a dog that needs a closed mouth muzzle or choke collar when going in public, I cannot accept. If your dog is over 50 lbs and is not at least a little bit leash trained or pulls/gets majorly distracted without listening to correction, I cannot accept. **We will NEVER double book dog walks, boarding, or day care unless there is permission AND a meet and greet between ALL parties!!** (Ex; say you want your dog to stay at my house the same day I have another client's dog in my home; I will need both you and the other client to meet eachother WITH your dogs to make sure they get along. In this scenario, even if the meet and greet goes well, those two dogs won't be left alone together WHATSOEVER, unless they are BOTH crated at the same time. You will NEED to provide a crate for your dog if you are involved in a double booking. If I have a dog staying at my home and you need to board your cat, or vice versa, no meet and greet is necessary. The cat and dog will be in separate rooms, and never ever have contact with eachother.)

I currently work as a caregiver in an assisted living facility for those with memory issues, such as alzheimers and demetia. I also do work in a group home for at risk teen youth, and this is something great for my dog to attend as well; she is a big reason why I do it. Hopefully we can get certified as a therapy dog ao she is able to make more widespread visits! It truly is my passion to help and care for living things, whether it be people, animals, or plants. I am a huge gardener and spend most of my time outdoors. I work caregiving overnight, and at the home overnight and during the day, whatever my schedule allows. However, my dog Maeve comes with me to my job at the group home, she loves it just as much as the kids do. I have an office there, so if you have a small or medium dog under 50 lbs, they are welcome to come, too! I work casually; this means that I choose my hours as I'd like. It leaves my schedule very open and flexible; I can move things around as needed, and it's usually not a problem. It would be helpful to get a booking request a week or so in advance, but it's not necessary! Unless you are comfortable with it, your dog or cat won't be left home alone for more than an hour at a time if boarding.
