Pet care experience
I got my first dog when I was 13, and was fully in charge of caring for her. I also had other small pets before that, so I'm used to having various creatures around and keeping their needs front of mind. In addition to watching my own dogs, I've pet-sat for various friends and relatives. I also have extensive babysitting experience, so I've been trusted with animals of all kinds :) I've watched a sweet black lab post-surgery, cared for a geriatric cat, and nursed a dog back from a foot injury over the course of two months (this required doing physiotherapy exercises with him, curbing a fungus infection on his injured foot, and taking him to vet appointments). I love the outdoors and enjoy running and hiking, so I can get your dog the exercise she or he needs whether that's a slow walk around the block or an outing on the trails.

Attentive, kind
Madeleine has taken care of our dog Hank on a few occasions. Hank is a sweet old guy but has a few physical and behavioral issues that require an experienced caretaker. Madeleine is great and knows how to put him at ease, makes sure he gets enough exercise, and is comfortable handling special feeding and medicine instructions. She also sends updates and photos! It's very reassuring having Hank stay at home where he can be more relaxed. And we can relax too, knowing he's in good hands. We definitely recommend Madeleine!
Madeline is incredible! She watched my golden doodle all summer after a ligament tear and did dressing changes, took him to therapy and walked him the prescribed amount. Keeping it dry when it was raining. He absolutely loves her! She is reliable and kind. You seriously could not ask for a better pet sitter.

A typical day
I'll take my cue from your dog's usual schedule, but I'm up early and ready to take them for a walk first-thing. I'll make sure there's a good balance of sniffing and exercise :) They'll get plenty of cuddles and playtime throughout the day, and we can make a trip to the dog park if they like to socialize.

Availability
I'm a graduate student, so my schedule is flexible. Most of my work can be accomplished remotely; I just need to be on campus for a couple of hours three days a week. This means that I can fit walks and play sessions in at odd hours.
