Pet care experience
Hello! Working with animals has always been my passion. I have previously worked at the Athens Area Humane Society, the Oconee Veterinary Hospital in Watkinsville, and as a puppy raiser for the Guide Dog Foundation. I grew up with dogs and adopted a 4 year old husky, Juneau, last year from a local shelter. I adore working with dogs, cats, small animals, and reptiles. My schedule is flexible, so please message me if you’re interested. I’m happy to do a meet and greet to see if I am a good fit for you and your pets 🙂

Maddie is fantastic with both my dogs. She went above and beyond, sending me pics and status thru' out the day. All my fears and anxieties were gone. Both my kiddos had good time with Maddie and her other dogs at home. She has a large yard which is huge plus. I would absolutely love sending my dogs over to her anytime in future.
Maddie did a great job watching our two dogs. She was attentive, sent us pics and videos, and had great communication. Most importantly, she seems to love dogs and ours look well taken care of. Would definitely use her again!!

Everything in my house if pet-safe, and I am very careful to make sure the pets i’m watching are safe the whole time I am with them. I have been trained in giving oral medications and Sub Q medications for diabetes. Any special instructions are welcomed! I am able to provide beds, toys, bowls, and blankets for them to use, although you’re more than welcome to bring your own if you prefer.

Please let me know if your dog has any special needs. I am able to give medications or provide any special care if needed. I have a lot of experience with dogs with attachment anxiety or anxiety around being in a new place. I also have worked with many cats who are fearful or nervous around people. Please provide your pet’s food and let me know anything you feel that is important to know about them.
A typical day
I have many puzzle toys for cats and dogs, as well as lick mats and treats that are approved by you. I also very happy to walk your dog around our neighborhood as well if they enjoy walks.

Availability
I am taking online college classes this fall and will be home when your pets are staying with me. I have one in-person class a couple of times a week, but I am home 95% of the time. I live in a house with a big fenced-in yard, and have a lot of room for your dogs to run around! I only have 1 dog, but my roommates have a sweet 2-year old female lab. We live on separate floors of the house, so there should not be any interaction between your pets and them unless you are comfortable with it.
