I can’t remember a time in my life when there wasn’t at least one dog around. From the time I was little, I’ve felt a sincere passion for animals of all shapes and sizes and I think being part of their life is a wonderful gift. I have personal experience taking care of new puppies, old timers and everything in between. My house is currently home to two shih tzu / bichon mixes aged 5 and 18 months. They are both enthusiastic about playing, but also have a lot of quiet time in between. Whether they’re on the timid side, or outgoing and energetic, your dog will fit right in with the pack while they’re staying with us. I have experience volunteering at the Great Plains SPCA in Kansas where I spent most of my time walking dogs and doing doggy laundry. In my time there, I learned about dog behavior and body language through their orientation process and my own experiences with the dogs. I picked up additional tips more recently when I went through a training course with my younger dog in the summer of 2020. I frequently read articles on the subject to expand my knowledge further. Every dog deserves to be treated like family, and that goes for guest dogs too! The most important thing to me is to keep a relaxed, entertaining environment and listen to what the dog wants - whether that’s some quiet time snoozing, a romp in the yard, or to play with their favorite toy. I am home all day and have flexible scheduling. I can't wait to meet your dogs!
