Pet care experience
I have owned animals all my life and have experience with many different species and dog breeds. I work as a full time Veterinary Assistant and volunteer as a Search and Rescue K9 Handler. I have two dogs, Jenga who is a Certified Wilderness Air Scent Search K9, and Spyro who is an Urban Trailing K9 in Training. Beyond SAR I have had experience in Agility, Conformation, and Obedience. I also volunteered as a dog walker for the Oregon Humane Society for several years before shifting my volunteer commitment to Search and Rescue. I am very patient, have a good knowledge base and experience working with dogs who may need a little extra time and love. In many ways, dogs are the center of my world and my goals. I absolutely love working with animals and look forward to meeting you and your furry friend(s)!

Mackenzie was wonderful! At the meet and greet, she immediately kneeled down to give Sonny attention and loving. I felt so comfortable leaving him with her and she provided wonderful care. Will definitely be using her again.
Mackenzie is amazing with my two huskies! She is highly experienced with canine training and is always on time and gives them a great workout during lunch. I highly recommend her and feel so lucky to have welcomed her into our husky pack ha!

I do not have any restrictions on breeds and will work with intact dogs. I do prefer that your dog is crate trained for house sitting. I am willing to walk dogs with mild reactivity so long as the owner is honest about triggers, is working with a qualified trainer and has a training plan set in place for the walks.
A typical day
While you are away: ~ I can visit your home several times throughout the day to check on your pet and stay overnight if needed. ~ During my visits your dog will enjoy long walks through your neighborhood, fun fetch games and interesting brain games. ~ I will keep track of medications and schedule my time with your dog during the day around those times if multiple doses are needed. ~ Should an emergency arise I will transport your dog to the vet and stay with them until they are well enough to come home. ~ You can expect daily updates with pictures and stories about your pets day while you are away. ~ I can also take care of other small pets (Rats, Mice, Hamsters, Non-venomous Reptiles, Fish, etc...) and bring in your mail each day.

I work 4 days a week as a veterinary assistant and would love to spend my days off making sure your pet is happy and well taken care of.
