Pet care experience
I did Rover for over two years while I lived in Washington DC. I always got stellar reviews and had so much fun! Now I’ve moved back to Utah and taken a job as a full-time lawyer, but I just can’t give up taking care of my pet friends in my spare time. I offer that explanation because my schedule is not always open, but please reach out because I’d love to see if I can help you! I have loved taking care of animals of all kinds since I was 10 years old and I brought my first cat home. Since then, I have taken the lead in training our family dogs and caring for other family pets. I have lived with dogs as small as 5 pounds, and as large as 120 pounds. I believe strongly in positive reinforcement training, and I’m always trying to learn more about dog behavior. I have helped my friends train their puppies and helped to babysit during the rough stages of puppyhood.
Reviews
As always, Mackenzie did an amazing job.
Mackenzie is the best dog sitter I have ever seen. She really cares and is especially great with my puppy who isn't the easiest to take care of. She teaches him to be well mannered and works on training him. She also recaps each visit really well and includes plenty of pictures and detailed descriptions. My puppy really looks forward to seeing her.
McKenzie is great with my cat! Very trustworthy and communicative.
Mackenzie is great and always very responsive.

I prefer to care for animals in my own home for the comfort of my dog. I have a young Weimaraner who loves to make our houseguests feel welcome! I try to give my own dog and any others staying in our home a longer individual walk in the morning, with smaller breaks throughout the day. I always walk my dog and any dog staying with me individually.

Information Mackenzie C. would like to know about your pet
My specialty is young, high-energy dogs. Dog traits that many people find exhausting and hard to handle I find to be the most rewarding and fun. When accepting a new client I am very thorough in inquiring about the behavioral traits, issues or triggers of each dog. Please be honest, as these inquiries are for the safety of myself and my own dog. I also ask that any dogs staying with me for daycare or boarding be crate-trained, as I live in a very small apartment and I may have to leave periodically for walks or errands. If your dog has special needs I will do my best to accommodate them.
A typical day
I have a large fenced yard, and live near multiple open areas. Your pet will get individual exercise time with me either in the yard or on walks. (They will need to stay in a crate while I am walking my own dog) I also love to play games at home based on nosework, puzzle toys, agility and obedience training.

I work full-time, but I work from home on Mondays and Fridays. Because of busy work schedule, I generally can only accept requests on the weekends.
