Pet care experience
Hello, my name is Mackenzie! I just recently graduated Boston University with a degree in Film & Television, and I am now working at the Anthropology Department there. I have been on Rover caring for animals since 2021 and it has brought SO much to my life. I have met so many wonderful people, pets and parts of the city that I never would have been introduced to otherwise. I have been surrounded by animals since I was born. Growing up, we never had less than three cats and three dogs running around, and it was made clear that everyone in my household would have a hand in caring for them. Aside from the shared responsibilities I had taking care of our dogs and cats, I also personally had to care for my leopard gecko (Saphira) and my two rabbits (Hazel & Prince). Currently, we have three turtles, three cats (we have a habit of rescuing strays), two adult dogs, a puppy and a lizard back at home.

Mackenzie took great care of our kitty and our apartment while we were out of the country for a week. She messaged us with pics at least once a day (often more), and attended to all of kitty's daily care needs. Cheeks was happy and healthy and not grumpy with us at all when we returned! We're looking forward to booking with Mackenzie again!
Awesome drop-in with Mackenzie! We booked a pre-vacation visit to chat about details & have Cheeks get more accustomed to this new hoomin. Really excited to have Mackenzie take care of our clowny kitty (and our home) while we're away.

Please let me know if a dog is aggressive with other dogs (this is okay, it allows me to alter how I walk them outside) or if they have any sort of separation anxiety. I cannot provide constant hourly care due to my job.
A typical day
I like to tailor daily activities depending on the temperament of the animal I am caring for. I have experience with many different types of dogs and cats, from the outgoing, to the anxious and avoidant, to the easygoing. Because I work Tuesday-Saturday, more anxious pets that need constant attention are not conducive to my schedule anymore.

Availability
I am currently working full 8 hours days Tuesday-Saturday, so if you have a pet that has more demanding care needs, I am probably not the sitter for you. I prioritize making sure your pet is fed, walked (if they're a dog) and given quality time in the morning before I leave and when I get back after my shift.
