Your True Substitute Dog or Cat Mom
Pet care experience
I’ve had animals since childhood. My most recent little dog, Deaf Betty, a 17 year old terrier mix, who left mid-July, was the second love of my life. I am now pet-free and not liking it, though it’s too soon to find my next baby. Which brings us to *your* baby (or babies). Though my most recents have been dogs (Billy Bones, Deaf Betty), I’m a lifelong cat lady too. If you want your little ones treated and loved just as you would do, I’m here. I’m a baby-on-the-sofa, next-to-me-in-bed kind of pet carer — and I’m happy to follow *your* rules if that means floors and crates (there’s still plenty of opportunity for love and affection). We will walk and play and snuggle and, having had terriers, with all that entails, we’ll be as active as your little one needs. We can do car rides and doggy parks, visit friends, have play dates, go for puppucinos. I’m flexible, open, and want only for your pets to be as happy with me as they are when your’re home. Your pup or kitty drives my care. And while retired from a career doing (human!) abuse investigations, I work part time from home so if doing overnights, they’d really be 24/7 sits. I’m what I always looked for in my extensive use of Rover sitters: reliable, committed, at home most of the time, and a real true animal lover. I’m happy to administer meds as needed, have cared for my own senior dogs with limitations (deaf, blind, hospice). Because I’m home the vast majority of the time, animals with more regular trips outdoors are going to be properly cared for. I’m open to large dogs depending on compatibility. 24/7 in home care with only periodic out-of-home errands or activities. My work is from home so that’s not an issue that would impact care of your furry family members. I will not only care for your fur family as I would my own (which means a pretty ridiculous amount of love, interaction, play, and attention), but I will care for your home in the same manner. I’m all grown up, mature, responsible, and reliable. Your home will be clean and maintained, ready for your return, and your pets will be cared for and happy to see you. This is critically important to me as I have had some really unpleasant experiences with care of my own babies. I’ve picked up my own dogs to find them anxious, stressed, sick. I’ve had in home care that showed up at midnight and left by 5 am. I’ve also had superb care where my little ones were so content that they were relaxed and peaceful when I returned home (not exhausted by days of anxiety). That’s what I wish to offer to someone else and their fur babies. Peace of mind, certainty that all is well, and confidence that their pets are safe, sound, and happy.

Lynette did a wonderful job with our dog, Wesley. She treated him like he was her own dog with multiple daily walks, hugs and massages. He was a very happy dog when we returned home. Thanks Lynette.
Lynette is an amazing cat sitter!

I live in an apartment with lots of walking trails and a dog park. I’m open to boarding in my home on a case by case basis, so just shoot me a note if that’s of interest. Same conditions apply as for in-your-home care: work from home so home almost all the time, doggies on furniture and bed, lots of love and attention. One dog at a time only (two from same home considered).
Information Lynette S. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know feeding habits, amounts, times. Normal bed/wake-up times. In and out times. Walk preferences, favorite toys, favorite activities. If there’s anything that scares or worries your pet, tell me. Medical history, let me know.
A typical day
Your pet’s usual day is my day. Sleep late or not. Go for multiple brisk or leisurely (sniffing time!) walks. Lounge around at home or go for rides or to the doggy park. I’m flexible, open, and want only to make your little ones as happy as they can be without you.

Availability
I work part time from home so I am available the vast majority of the time. Only one dog at a time, tho could take two from same home depending on requirements. Happy to discuss further. Any dog or cat in my care is top priority.
