Vacation for pups under 20 lbs

Pet care experience

I absolutely love dogs. They are all so individual. They each have their own unique personality and little characteristics that make them so special. In the past I kennelled my dogs and was so unhappy with the care they received. They always had medical issues afterwards, and didn’t receive the love and attention they needed. Paying extra for cuddles and a walk seems so cruel and takes advantage of people who want the best for their dog. I want to offer people who love their dogs, other options: a home away from home that includes cuddles, walks, treats and excitement, and many happy moments. In terms of my experience, I have cared for dogs my entire life. I have taken many training classes through Carolark with each new dog over the years, and have read about dog training and watched a number of training videos. I have never used fear tactics or spanking to correct my dogs behaviour and would never do so with yours. I truly believe that kindness, patience and calmness is the best approach. I have welcomed many new dogs in to our home. My dogs enjoy the newness and excitement that each little dog personality brings with them when they come. The dogs see ally enjoy getting to know the visiting pup and do a job making the pup feel welcome. There is always lots of playing and excitement and in time they move as a little pack together through the house and in the back yard. My home has a really big fenced in back yard, and big home for lots of physical exercise indoors and out. We live in an area with beautiful walking paths nearby. I have a number of dog beds in various sizes and shapes. They are washed and cleaned regularly. We also have dog steps to help little pups or older pups get up onto the couch or into bed at night. I ensure the dogs water is changed daily or more, and I supervise eating with all the dogs. The dogs really have great time , and it is a nice little holiday where they can get spoiled and pampered while you are away.

Lynda and her family are amazing people. She took such a nice care of Thea, was sending to me daily updates, organized her grooming, gave her a bath and washed all her belongings and on top of all brought her back to us as our car battery broke that day! Thank you Lynda and the family!

Lynda watched my little dog Albert for 11 nights while we were out of the country. I can honestly say she went above and beyond for him. We were updated every night with pictures, videos and message about his day. This was brilliant for us as we could see how happy he was, running about with her own dogs. She bathed him, washed his blanket and even gave him a little goodie bag of treats to take home. I 100% recommend and would definitely use Lynda whenever we go away again.

Lynda was an absolutely fantastic dog sitter for our furry family member! From the moment we met her, we could tell she has a genuine love for animals, and our dog warmed up to her instantly. She was very communicative, sending us daily updates and photos, which greatly eased our minds while we were away. Lynda went above and beyond, not just sticking to the basics of feeding and walking, but also spending quality time playing and cuddling. Our dog seemed so happy and well-cared for under her watch. We highly recommend Lynda to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving pet caregiver. We will definitely be seeking her services again in the future!

My dog‘s vacation at Lynda‘s was amazing and if I could give a higher rating I would. I got daily updates, photos, and videos. My girl was pampered and received so much attention. A beautiful, clean home with well-behaved resident dogs. Great fenced backyard. I will definitely book here again 🐾

I have a fenced in back yard, two dogs that are very friendly and have been around cats and dogs. One is a 8 lbs papillion named Luna, a Bichon Frisée chihuahua mix named Hunter who is 15 lbs and Millie who is small Pomeranian papillion who is 2 lbs. I have cared for family and friends dogs in our homes, including puppies, and senior dogs. I don’t worry too much about accidents. I know new environments for dogs can be stressful, so accidents are expected. We are patient and kind, and just love having dogs in our home to care for. We offer lots of walks, play times and cuddles. If you prefer your dog to be in a crate at night, we can accommodate that. Alternatively, your dog is welcome to sleep in a bed, if that is what they are used to. We are also used to paper training and outdoor toileting. We have little puppy stairs for the bed and also a puppy stroller for young pups, or senior pups when the temperature gets too extreme.

Information Lynda R. would like to know about your pet

I would need to know the following: If your dog takes any medication and when. I would want to know how often they eat; and any dietary restrictions. I can supervise eating if needed especially if it is a small dog, or older dog, to ensure good food intake. We do have stairs. If your dog can’t walk up stairs I can carry them up and down as needed. I would need to know about any mobility issues. It would also be important for you to cut your dogs nails before they come so they don’t slip on the stairs. If your dog urinates when stressed, just let me know so i can figure out the best way to manage that. All our carpets, the few we have, can be shampooed. We mostly have hard wood and ceramic floors. We have lots of dog beds, but if your little one prefers their own bed, special toy or blanket, please bring it along. I am a very doting dog owner and ensure all small items and cords are kept away from little ones.

A typical day

We have a little toy bin the house that has dog friendly toys that are regularly washed and inspected for damage . My dogs are good at sharing their toys. You are welcome to bring your own. Most dogs like to go into the bin and explore the toys. We also play fetch in the very large fenced in our very large back yard, and also go on long walks outside on our walkways that are very scenic. For very small dogs under 10 lbs, they can’t usually handle extreme temperatures so for colder or warmer days we play fetch inside or go for walks with the puppy stroller and they get shorter breaks to walk outside until the are too hot or if it rains. For the bigger dogs they wouldn’t use the stroller. Our house is very large with lots of room for running and playing inside. We play lots of games of fetch or hide the toy in the house. We also have a pool and let our pups go in to cool off.

I currently work full time at home and can take breaks through the day. When I have to run out my husband and older son are at home to take pups outside as often as needed. We have a little bell that dogs have learned to ring to go out. We live on a two acre lot so have a lot of outdoor running area and safe paths to take longer walks.
