Pet care experience
Petting, walking, and hanging out with dogs is my favorite pastime! After moving here for nursing school I had to leave my built-in buddy, Ben a 10-year-old chocolate lab rescue. Being raised with dogs and pet-sitting for years gave me lots of experience with training, walking, and washing dogs. I pet sat puppies who needed training reinforcement and was even the dog handler at a wedding! I volunteered at shelters like the SPCA and Humane Society, so I have cared for dogs of all shapes and sizes. This is the perfect gig for me since in nursing clinicals I already run around after the nurses and clean up poop, it's easier with dogs since they are so much cuter!

Safety, trust & environment
I live in an apartment with no other pets (there are others in the building), and there is a dog park right across the street. If they are not as into other dogs there is a quiter grass area that is right downstairs. I know some dogs just prefer to be at home so coming to you is no problem. I can always water plants or bring in mail if you need! I can walk for as long as your dog wants and I know some mental stimulation tricks that usually tire them right out. I will happily wash your dog, since there is a self service place right across the street from me, the price of which is included in my fee. Updating you is important to me and sending pics or what I like to call Puppy Grams are a must.

Information Lydia Z. would like to know about your pet
I need to know how well trained your dog really is, and what commands you use for simple things (ie. come, down, off, leave it, free). If you are training just let me know and I can continue whatever you are working on. What are your dogs triggers to react or get scared and how are they on a leash. When they normally eat, walk, and poop. Most importantly where do they like to be pet (My dog Ben is partial to chest scratches)!
A typical day
Keeping a dog on their regular schedule is important to me so a typical day will be catered to what they are used to in terms of meal and walk frequency. In between then all the play time they want with plenty of naps in between. Mental stimulation is so important to tire them out. Since using their noses is a work out for them, I like to play hide-n-go-treat. This is where I have them leave it (or in another room) and place treats all around another room, slightly hidden, then they simply have to seek them out. No give backs and fetch are always a classic at play time, and butt scratches are a must!

Availability
I am a nursing student currently, so I have some good chunks of relatively free time. My weekends will always be free from class and clinicals, and I have no other job.
