Experienced dog-lover
Pet care experience
NOTE: I graduate May 19th and am moving away right after, so I cannot take on any services after this date, or any new recurring walks I'm a senior at Tufts who believes as much free time as possible should be devoted to animals. I have years of experience as a dog trainer, walker, and owner. This involvement has been both professional and for fun. I've volunteered dog-walking through Tufts, worked as a dog trainer for showing puppies during high school, volunteered for the SPCA, and have cared for and trained my own dog for 10+ years. I have experience with dogs who are anxious, elderly, reactive, and strong. I am also more than happy to help with other pets, like cats, fish, or reptiles. I have additional background in equine and child care, which brings extra confidence to my canine interactions. I am captain of the Tufts Equestrian Team and was a camp counselor for four years.
Reviews
Lydia has quickly become our favorite dog-walker! She is extremely dependable and responsive, and she provides a great summary of each walk that shows how attuned she is to our dog.
Our dog can be hesitant with new people, but she had a great walk with Lydia! We appreciated Lydia’s communication and all the walk pictures.
Lydia was communicative and warm! Thank you.
Lydia was fantastic! She took great care of our dog and really got to know him and his quirks. We would love to have her walk him again in the future.

I have plenty of experience with dog training and will uphold your previous training. Please let me know if there’s any specific commands that I should plan to use with your dog. If I am spending time in your home, I will of course respect your space and privacy at all times. in addition to dog-sitting, I’ve done a lot of house-sitting, babysitting, and AirBnB visits, so I’m experienced with staying in others’ homes. I am also happy to board your pet at my house, provided that they are comfortable in new environments. I live with five housemates who are all dog lovers, and we do not have any pets of our own. We frequently board dogs at our place and are very used to having a furry friend around. Your dog must be comfortable with a busier household and not easily stressed; while I am happy to watch anxious dogs at their own place, they are not suited for my household. I will also occasionally need to step out, for instance to attend class, so your dog should be comfortable being left in my bedroom or living room. If your dog enjoys fetch or time off-leash, my neighborhood has lots of great fields nearby.

Information Lydia S. would like to know about your pet
How does your dog behave around other dogs? Should I allow strangers and children to pet your dog if they ask? Does your dog have any fears or quirks I should know about? Can they be off leash in enclosed spaces? Are there medical details or dietary restrictions which I should know about?
A typical day
I love to walk and can take your pet out for long, engaging adventures, or bring them to local parks. I often walk a new route every time so that we can explore. I stick to peaceful residential streets and parks as much as possible. If you’re comfortable with your dog off-leash, we can play fetch or run around a field.

Availability
I am completing my final semester of college and am studying part-time. Thus, I have a very flexible schedule and can easily accommodate to owners’ needs. Please note that I can only visit owners who are easily accessible from Tufts, as I don’t have a car.
