Competent & Secure Pet Care

Pet care experience

I have been rescuing dogs since 2006 as the founder of a Rescue group providing rehabilitation, basic veterinary care and have handled/re-homed more than 5,000 dogs. I have cared for dogs of all breeds, ages (puppies, young, adult and senior) and size (toy, small, medium and large). I am familiar with standards of care and red flag symptoms that would indicate a need for veterinary care. I have also taught Animal Welfare to college bound seniors at a local high school and observed numerous training sessions provided by a Certified Animal Behaviorist.

Lydia was great with our pup, Ollie! She lives in a nice gated community and we felt like very safe leaving our pup with her. Would recommend and book again!

We adopted our dog from PoochMatch, owned by Lydia, three or four years ago. We have never known a person more loving and dedicated to the welfare of dogs. Let me testify of that by telling you we are willing to drive from San Diego to San Bernardino and back every time we go on vacation to place our dogs in Lydia's care. That's a 200 trip to drop them off and another 200 miles after our vacations to pick them back up. Why? Because we know the TLC she will give our "furry children." What more can I say!

I can now go out of town knowing Lucien, my dog, is safe and loved with Lydia. My dog is over eleven and he has been staying with Lydia since he was three. It has been a very happy relationship, Nancy R.

Safety, trust & environment

I live in a safe, quiet gated community with a walking path around a small lake. My home is escape proof - the fence is 6 feet high and brick. My home has an open floor plan, i.e. living room, kitchen, dining room with a sliding glass door to a tiled covered patio. All floors in my home and patio are tile which makes for a more sanitary environment and that's important. I don't worry about accidents - it happens.

Home

Lives in a house
Has a fenced yard
Non-smoking household
Has no pets
No children present
Dogs not allowed on bed
Dogs allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 4-8 hours

Information Lydia S. would like to know about your pet

I will need to know the age, breed, weight, demeanor and personality, where the dog customarily sleeps at night, whether the dog is sociable with other dogs, whether the dog is on any medication(s) any health issues. I would like to know whether the dog is walked using a harness, McAllister leash or Martingale Collar. Proof of vaccines for Rabies and Distemper/Parvo required. I am able to give your dog vaccines (if you wish) for DHPP (Distmper/Parvo) or Bordetella (kennel cough). I am entirely comfortable giving your dog any injections required.

A typical day

Playful interaction with a sociable dog(s) of similar size using toys and walks around the community lake, stimulated by wildlife including ducks and swans. Your dog will always be by my side and sleep where ever I sleep.
