Pet care experience
I have cared for other people's dogs of all different sizes, personalities, and health levels for 6 years. I grew up with a beloved Border Collie who was my best friend for 12 short years. I am now a college student with a dog of my own, and she is my world! I know how difficult it can be to find someone trustworthy to care for my dog, and I would love to offer my services to other pet parents! I have experience volunteering at animal shelters, and I have been trained to work with varying dog personalities. I am comfortable with dogs of all socialization levels. My own dog, Hope, is very sensitive to her surroundings and strange objects, people, and other dogs that she does not know. We have overcome many obstacles together, and because of her I am able to read and interpret dog behavior. I am also a Pre-vet major at Clemson University, I feel very confident to care for a dog in any situation!

Lydia is so caring and genuine. I knew from the second I interviewed her that she would be a great fit for my sweet Pippa! She was willing to keep her on a game day, fed her and walked her for me with no problem! She even sent me pictures of them playing! I would definitely recommend Lydia for walking and sitting!

Lydia Porter has been our one and only dog sitter for the past four years. She loves our dog,CJ like he was her own. She takes great care of him, plays with him, makes sure he gets exercise, and always gives him a bath before we return. Lydia loves animals and it is evident in the way she cares for her own pets or the pets of others. She is a great person with a beautiful personality. Lydia would make a great helper for any pet.

I would like to know a dog's likes and dislikes, do they have problems with other dogs while on a leash? Do they like other dogs in general? Are they well leash trained? Are they an escape artist? Do they have any allergies? Are they friendly with strangers? Are they destructive? etc. I do not have any breed preferences. My own dog is a pit bull, so I understand the stigma that comes with any bully breed.
A typical day
I am willing to walk anywhere! My dog prefers to walk at the local botanical garden or on any of the trials around the Clemson area. I love to be outdoors, so if your dog enjoys hiking or swimming we will have tons of fun! I personally do not go to dog parks, but I love to have one on one play time with other dogs. Baseball fields are usually my go to for play times!
