I have had 2 of my own Jack Russell terriers in the last 12 years, and have also looked after boxers, huskies, cairn terriers, French bulldogs and more.

My dog Minnie stayed with Lydia over the weekend, my dog loved it.Lydia keeped me updated with photos of Minnie and messages of how she was doing.I would definitely recommend Lydia to any other dog owner,have already told family and friends that have pets.I would like to thank Lydia for looking after Minnie so well, will definitely be sending Minnie to stay with Lydia when I next go anywhere.

I have a large fenced garden that is perfect for dogs and plenty of room within the house for any breed of dog. As I have had dogs in the past, I am very careful with choking hazards and leaving out food in places that they can reach. Also, I am aware that every dog has different exercise needs and I am happy to cater the number/length of our walks to what is best for them.

Please let me know of any special requirements that your dog has, for example, any regular medication, etc. I am able to give oral medication but have no experience with injected medication.
A typical day
Typically, I let the dogs get settled in a new environment first which can be quick alarming for some dogs. Throughout the day, we usually play fetch or just with any toys you might bring in the garden. I tend to go to Roundhay Park for walks as it is nearest to me and great for dogs- if a dog needs a lot of exercise it’s great and for dogs that need less or are senior, there are some shorter routes that I take. I give the dogs full access to the garden throughout the day as it is fully enclosed.
