Sometimes you need someone who can stand in as you and just in the nick of time! As a substitute pet parent for 5 years, I can do that for you! I’ve walked every breed of dog considered to be high energy or potentially aggressive like German Shepherds, Rottweilers, Pitbulls, Blue Heelers, and Australian Shepherds. I’ve also walked temperamental breeds like Chihuahuas and Huskies. I’ve walked large dogs over 100 pounds including Great Pyrenees and use training commands so they are always safely handled. Through the Atlanta Humane Society I have walked shelter dogs for 4 years. There I was trained to walk dogs safely and through the Fear Free Shelter Program to understand and reduce FAS- Fear, Anxiety, and Stress in dogs and cats. I learned scared and aggressive body language, animal enrichment and training exercises, and proper administration of medication including injections and blood drawing. I currently train an aggressive Rottweiler basic manners and impulse control and attention behaviors with success. I have previously trained a bite quarantined Chihuahua and an un-neutered 1 year old German Shepard. I have also walked heartworm positive dogs, potty trained puppies, trained dog reactive dogs, trained deaf dogs with hand signals, and taught basic commands like ‘sit’, ‘down’, and ‘leave it’ from scratch. I have also picked up a. lot. of. poop. It is safe to say I would be comfortable caring for most dogs. I've seen dogs pass, puppies become adults, sick puppies become well, and I've been routinely trusted by traumatized dogs.
