True animal lover, relaxed/flexible

Pet care experience

*IMPORTANT INFO AT THE END* Hi! I'm 27 years old, born and raised in NYC, and I'm a true animal lover. I grew up with cats and I started walking neighbors' dogs in middle school. After college, I started dog sitting Lily the Havanese (pictured) and I loved it, so I'm now a full-time dog walker/sitter! My style is extremely relaxed yet attentive, and I believe each animal is unique, so I like to work with the owner to determine what best suits their dog's needs. I believe proper exercise is highly important for dogs, and I enjoy playing fetch, going to the dog run, and jogging with them. I've worked with dogs who were never socialized, and I'm comfortable taking care of multiple animals and animals with very particular needs. I love dogs of all breeds and personality types, but if I had to pick a favorite breed I'd say huskies or greyhounds/whippets :) I look forward to meeting you and your pet! IMPORTANT: My schedule is extremely busy and will only be offering my full range of services to existing clients. Additionally, I'm only able to reach the Upper East/West Sides. I'm a full-time dog walker with my own clients in addition to being employed with a company in the afternoons, so my availability is limited between 10AM-7PM. My weekends are mostly free during normal business hours. Stays include up to 2 walks a day. For services in addition to or outside of rover, my fee is $20/hr.

Highly recommended! Luke stayed in our apartment while we were away for 18 days. We found him to be a very responsible and caring sitter for Snoop our Cairn Terrier who has glaucoma and needs eye drops six times a day. Luke watched for possible problems and communicated very well with us and with Snoop's vet and even refilled Snoop's prescriptions. We felt very comfortable having Luke stay in our apartment. He was extremely considerate and even changed the sheets on our bed before he left. I could see that Snoop liked Luke immediately and hope that Luke will be able to take care of Snoop next time we go away.

Luke was a wonderful sitter for Gatsby. He took him out to Central Park before nine every morning so Gatsby could play with his friends. Gatsby is a sensitive dog but I knew when I met Luke that they would be a good match...both gentle souls. I would definitely use him again!

Luke took great care of our little guy, Bentley, while we were gone for 12 days. He kept in regular contact with us, let us know how things were going, what games they were playing and when they went out for walks. Bentley is less social with dogs and more social with humans so it was important that he had someone like Luke who could really spend time with him. We received several photos while we were gone as well which brought a smile to our face. Luke stayed in our home and was respectful with our property. We will definitely hire Luke again when we travel next and I would highly recommend him to others.

Information Luke S. would like to know about your pet

I like to know whether or not your dog is socialized (I don't mind either way) and what level of exercise they are used to. There a few more questions I like to ask during the meet and greet, including whether or not they like the rain/snow, favorite walking spots, etc.

A typical day

I ask the owner what activities they prefer, but I enjoy playing fetch in the park, going to the dog runs, and jogging with them! Exercise and activity is extremely important.
