Lucas was great with my cat

You will find no better pet caregiver than Lucas. he is almost intuitive with animals. He connects immediately and find the way to their heart quickly. He is empathetic, thoughtful, and loves giving extended attention to all animals. Three experiences stand out: When Lucas was about 4, his family adopted an older kitten from the shelter, which he named Violet. It became clear quickly that Violet had some kidney issues which were not identified at the shelter, which caused Violet to pee constantly. Lucas was the first to help clean up each little puddle. The shelter offered to take her back to give her the treatment she needed. When Violet was brought back to the shelter, Lucas walked right up to the shelter manager and said, "Don't worry. Violet will be OK. She just needs a house where they don't have carpet." When Lucas was 14, the family dog attacked another dog at the kennel where it was boarded. Blue was part Chow, and the family had been advised that she might develop an aggressiveness as she entered puberty. The attack was the first time that aggressiveness was directed toward another animal in a public space, and because of the laws of their homestate that meant Blue had to be put down. Lucas' mom (and parent of Blue) was out of town, so Lucas was staying with his dad. Aftereveryone learned of the incident, Lucas offered to go visit Blue before she was euthanized. The kennel folks watched as Lucas did all Blue's tricks with her, ran around the yard and played her favorite chasing game, and then sat down with her and held her while the euthanizing medicine was administered. His compassion was profound. Finally, now as a grown man, Lucas has pet family members through his human family all over the country. He has relationships with all the animals, and greets each animal with their name, a big hug and usually a treat. His extended dog family knows him by voice over the phone and they run to him, tails wagging, when he arrives. I have no doubt that Lucas will be the loving, responsible, and thorough dog sitter for Rover.com. In fact, I expect he will become a requested sitter over time.
