Love ‘Em Like They Were My Own! 😊
Pet care experience
As a big animal lover I’ve always sought ways to spend more time with them in whatever ways I could - be that pet-sitting for friends and family, helping to exercise friend’s dogs when they were busy, to volunteering for the last 12 years at a therapeutic horseback-riding facility. In that time I’ve dedicated to learning as much as I could about dogs, cats, and horses and how to care for and teach them so you can feel secure that your pet will be treated with the utmost kindness, respect, and love, with some dashes of training and fun mixed in. Need someone to care for your furry family member - look no further!
Reviews
Our cat was extremely well cared for. Lourie was at the house exactly at the specified times and when we got home there was no mess whatsoever. Would highly recommend, she was fantastic!
Lourie is a loving and caring person who values the needs and wants of others. Always willing to give a helping hand. Especially when it comes to animals. Her attention to detail is immaculate! She’s graciously hosted my cat at short notice with no issues what so ever. You will not be disappointed by choosing Lourie!
Lourie is an amazing person because she is kind, loving, compassionate and caring. She loves animals, particularly dogs, and she is so good to them and with them. She fully embraces the Pet Parent mindset with her own dog. She spoils her rotten because that's her Baby. But, she is also very conscientious and responsible in wanting to raise her Baby to be a Good Girl and grow up to be a happy, healthy dog. Lourie would be an excellent choice to work for you and in tending to any doggie put into her care.
I've known Lourie for over 4 years and she is one of the sweetest people I've known, since. She loves and cares for animals in a way that's unmatched. Whether it's volunteering her free time to take care of horses, or the care she gives for her dog, Artie, she really feels deeply for animals. Going great lengths to make sure any animal or person near her feels comfortable. That's why I feel this would be a really great fit for her. Anyone having the pleasure of leaving their dog with her will know their in great hands!

If in your home I can feed, water, walk, snuggle with, give medication, do basic training or exercise your dog and will do so in the most professional manner possible. If your dog is coming over to my home, I have a large, clear fenced in yard where my 11.5 month old Irish Setter has plenty of room to get her energy out daily so you can feel comfortable that your dogs would have ample space to wear themselves out and a super-friendly (and gentle) playmate to help in that endeavor. Afterwards I have a spare XL hard plastic crate if they need time and space to rest or if they are spending the night, along with plenty of fuzzy blankets and toys they can snuggle up with. Whatever it is your looking for, I’m happy to help make you and your dog’s lives happier, healthier and as stress-free as can be!

Information Lourie C. would like to know about your pet
When taking care of someone else’s dogs I like to know a few things to make both parties feel as comfortable and confident as possible, (I.e. Are they on any medications or have any health issues I need to be aware of, what their normal schedule looks like, any training the owner is working on the dog with and what their cues and words are, how that dog gets along with other animals or people, and any triggers they may have due to past experiences) It is my goal to stick as close to what the dog may be used to, so as to ease any stress they might experience being away from their owners. I work to provide a fun and distracting environment for them to get some energy out, have a fun time, and maybe learn a little something while they wait for their people to return.
A typical day
I think the best thing we can do for our dogs is offer them a variety of enrichment both mentally and physically, so I like to have multiple play times out in my yard, and weather permitting take dogs out to go on hikes at Potato Creek or to Madeline Bertrand park that is right down the street from me. I also like to include short training sessions on basic commands to keep them engaged and offer structure within the fun time.
