Adventure with Arlo

Pet care experience

I’ve had vizslas for around 20 years now, as a teenager we had one in the family home and when he sadly passed we fostered several and one long term. When I moved out I got my own vizsla puppy and he’s 3.5 now but still my big baby. Arlo was a very challenging puppy and although he is still high energy he’s a very good boy and loves to sleep inbetween walks. Arlo is not a morning person and would happily sleep until lunchtime most days, he needs 1.5-2 hours walks a day and has severe separation anxiety so is never left alone. He absolutely loves toys especially a ball or frisbee on a walk but he’s happy to share and never takes them off another dog. He loves to chase and be chased by his many doggy friends and has never shown any aggressions what so ever. Any time he’s given a telling off by another dog he takes the telling and doesn’t annoy them. I’ve had plenty of other family/friends dogs in our home or theirs and arlo and I both love it! Arlo sleeps in my bed cuddled in under the covers which is ridiculous but doggy guests will have the choice of a double bed in the other room, the sofa or their beds whatever suits them. Ofcourse they are allowed on the sofas and have full access to Arlo’s toys and garden. I work from home full time and as Arlo has separation anxiety he is never left alone.

Easy to arrange, had a pre-meet with Louise and Arlo. All went well and Magnus had his first stay. Louise sent me an update to reassure the my dog was settled in. Everything was so already and straightforward to arrange. Planning to book again. Thanks you!

Oscar had a fab day with Louise and Arlo! 🥰 Louise was great at communicating before and during his day boarding, and Oscar was made to feel like part of her home. Thanks so much again! He’ll be back 😁 xx

Louise & Arlo are amazing with Angus. Angus always seems to enjoy his self from the pictures Louise posts. Someone you can trust.

Safety, trust & environment

I have an open plan living space with a large turfed garden. I live right next to a great off lead walking spot and know all the local dogs who Arlo is of course friends with. I can accommodate needs as requested and although Arlo has full run of the house I can crate visiting dogs if needed. I will monitor the dogs at all times and send regular update pics and videos. I’m happy to have a free meet and greet/home tour prior to any bookings to ensure the dogs get along and are familiar with each other. Guest dogs will be equipped with an Apple air tag during walks for extra safety precautions.

Information Louise M. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know any quirks about your dog is there is anything they don’t like or are scared of. We often walk in the countryside so please make me aware if they react to livestock. Arlo is mainly off lead for all walks so would be most suited to other off lead dogs. If dogs require any medication or assistance.

A typical day

I go to the gym for an hour at 6am and my partner watches my son during this time. I the come home and take arlo out for the toilet and give him breakfast. If I’m working at 10 I’ll take home out for an hour/ hour and a half before starting work. For my other shifts I walk them for an hour at lunch and an hour when I finish. We have an abundance of toys and Arlo spends most of his walks chasing his ball or frisbee. We hide treats or do a snuffle toy for enrichment once a day. We also do some basic obedience training with Arlos breakfast.

I work full time from home and my shifts vary slightly from 8-4,10-6 and 6-2. I walk Arlo twice per day for around 2 hours total and let him out to run around the garden as often as he likes. Another buddy for him during boarding would not change much for us just another pup to love.
