Mature lady available for pet care services

Pet care experience

I’m a mature lady with a grown up daughter, with 15+ years of predominantly Springer Spaniel ownership and care experience in both a rural farming environment and a domestic household. Now living in Blackpool, I no longer have pets of my own but have the time to devote to caring for other’s, in a calm, slow paced environment. The house does have two other human male residents, but no children. When looking after your dog in my own home, they will have free reign of the ground floor which has laminated flooring throughout, and the fully enclosed rear garden, which has been recently decked throughout with new secure fencing and high gates. Living very close to the sea/prom, there will be regular walks by the sea and on the beach, with the chance to run free off lead, if appropriate. All photos shown on my profile are recent house guests I’ve hosted.......Max, Poppy, Autumn, Blossom, Henry, Stewie, Dash, Amber and Mabel

Our Springer Spaniel Fletch spent the day with Louisa on Monday 24th October 2022 whilst we went dancing at the Tower Ballroom in Blackpool. This is the first time he's been left with anyone, not family. We found Louisa on Rover.com. we've been chatting for a while leading to to the day and arranged a home visit the day before too that went well. Fletch had a fabulous time after some initial shyness he went for a lovely long walk on the nearby sandy beach with Louisa then had some down time with lots of cuddles and treats evidenced by the most beautiful photos Louise sent to us for reassurance??. Fletch was cared for lovingly as one of the family. Thank you Louisa you made an exciting fab day of dancing possible and even more enjoyable knowing Fletch was safe and happy in your care. Booking processes were easy with the Rover App. We will definitely visit Louisa the next time we're holidaying in the area.

Louisa is everything we were looking for in a dog-sitter, and more. We can’t praise her highly enough! We were anxious about leaving Mabel, our 3 year old Lancashire Heeler, alone with a sitter for the first time, while we went on holiday. Due to lockdown, Mabel has been in our company every day and night for over 2 years. We weren’t sure how Mabel or we would cope without each other, for 10 whole nights! Mabel immediately warmed to Louisa at their first-meeting at the local park, arranged prior to dropping her off a week later. Louisa sent us regular pup-dates, which were reassuring and made us laugh and smile. All of this contributed to us having a relaxing holiday. Louisa (and David) are warm, friendly, kind, and affectionate ‘dog-people’ who went up and beyond to reassure us, as Mabel’s humans, and were wonderful foster parents to Mabel. As a testament to this, when we collected her, Mabel was waggling, happy, skipping, grinning, and she even tried to drag us through the front door! Thanks Louisa – we think you’re amazing! And thanks David for playing football with Mabel ? xxx

I left my very nervous dog with Louisa for the day and I couldn't have been happier. Louisa seems very knowledgeable and caring and was just the person my dog needed to feel calm and secure.

Fantastic dog sitter , I hadn't left my dog before and was always reluctant to in the past, however I was going away and had no one to look after him . I can't thank louisa enough she let me and my dog visit a few days before which went well. Louisa kept in contact by email giving me updates to reassure me the dog was settling in. Would definitely recommend and use again thankyou louisa x

I have a newly decked rear back garden with new fencing and secure high gates front and rear, so your pets will stay safe and secure, with regular free access to the rear garden to play and potty. I have room for a crate if necessary. I also have a baby gate which is used to pen off the dogs if required to either keep separate to to keep them safe if front door is opened.

Information Louisa W. would like to know about your pet

I’d like to know what games and toys s/he likes to play with and their typical walking area preferences. Also any special dietary and medical needs they may have. I don’t have any particular breed preferences though smaller breeds are easier for me to manage these days. I will need to know if your dog/s are fully house trained as I do not accept dogs who still poop and pee where they choose, despite being allowed out and exercised regularly. Dogs found to be doing this will have their booking cancelled and dogs expected to be collected immediately. I do not accept any dog under 15 months old. I don’t take aggressive or potentially dangerous dog breeds, and dogs must be reasonably obedient in nature and be easy to harness up and attach their leads on to. Due to current health issues, I am unable to take heavier dogs (5kg+) who pull on lead, so dogs must walk well on lead. I please note, I am unable to lift or carry any dogs over 5kg in weight. All dogs must have an ID tag as mentioned above in order for me to take them for a walk. A pre-meet is advised to determine and confirm the above information and requirements, to ensure a successful happy sitting.

A typical day

As I live very close to the sea, there will be lots of promenade and beach walks. There’s also some local park areas and lots of paved areas nearby too if not keen on sand and getting too wet. Your preference for your pet. Please note, your dog will need a pet tag with owner name and address on in order to comply with The Control of Dogs Act 1992 in order for me to walk your dog. No tag = no walks.
