I've had experience dog sitting for weeks at a time. I'm home most of the day, so the dog will have a constant companion. And someone who is actively interested in engaging them. I also believe that when walking a dog, you're just along for the ride. It's the dog's time to have fun! Within reason, of course. My wife is also a dog lover and can assist in giving additional love. She is a nurse and can administer medications if necessary. When I walk a dog, that's all I'm doing. No texting, talking on the phone or listening to music. I have to be alert and aware of my surroundings in order to keep your dog safe and happy. The walk is about the dog, not me.
