Pet care experience
I have been a dog owner my entire life and have experience working at the animal shelter to care for many different breeds, sizes, and ages of dogs. My family got our first dog, a Dalmatian named Dottie, when I was a child. I grew up along side her, playing, walking, running, and grooming her until she passed away at the age of 14. We added a Pug named Angel to our family in 2004. I helped take care of Angel by taking her for daily walks, playing with her, bathing her and giving her extra care in her senior years when she developed arthritis and lost her hearing and most of her sight. My extra care included building her a ramp to get in and out of the house on her own, giving daily medications, and pushing her in her carriage when long walks were too difficult; due to her arthritis in the back end, the occasional poop nugget would fall out and I took diligent care of cleaning her and the house. We currently have a black Pug named Blackie that is 8 years old. He is still very active and I walk him daily and play in our fenced in backyard with his tennis ball.

Information Lou M. would like to know about your pet
I would like to know what their fears are (cars, other dogs, storms), so I can be sure to give them extra comfort if the situation arises.
A typical day
I have experience walking dogs in Colonial Heights at Fort Clifton, White Bank Park, Roslyn Park Landing and any neighborhood that is safe. However, I have experience with senior dogs and know they enjoy slow walks and lots of sniffing. I own a doggy stroller that I can put small senior dogs in who have arthritis. I can gently lift them in and out to do their business and sniff interesting spots.
