Expert Pet Sitter

Pet care experience

I've owned and operated my own pet sitting business since 2002. I am also a formerly licensed veterinary technician of 14 years. My training as a vet tech allows me to provide experienced care for special needs pets such as those needing fluid therapy, insulin injections or medications. In my 19 years of pet sitting and veterinary experience, I've cared for many types of dogs and cats and other species, including ferrets, parrots, skunks, rabbits, horses, goats, chickens, reptiles, and primates. I have had many repeat clients over the years due to my attention to detail, my commitment to excellence and my obvious love for the pets I care for. I'm very flexible with times and availability and will go the extra mile to assure that your pet has a wonderful experience in my care.

Lorrie DeNiro, or “Auntie Lorrie”, has cared for our pets for over two years and we could not have found a better person! She is trustworthy, conscientious, kind and downright just a good person. She has been in the industry for years and understands how to care for pets. We can always count on her to be there to let them out to potty and if there is ever an instance when she can’t care for them she ensures there are back-up providers so you are not left in a scramble. She has always cleaned up after our pets in the event an “emergency” happened. She's not afraid of getting her hands dirty…..;-). We also like when she keeps us informed of any events and cute pictures via text messages. My husband and I fully trust her judgement. We are so thankful and honored to have her caring for our pets or “kids” and would recommend her to anyone.

Lorrie has been my pet sitter since October 2013 until Lilly's passing in January 2015. I used Lorrie's services on numerous occasions during that time frame and never worried about the care of my cat. My little girl, Lilly, had medical issues (CRF) which required her getting fluids twice a day and a pill daily. She was also on a special wet food diet so it was important that Lilly was fed on time each day. Lorrie was good with Lilly and with her background working with a veterinarian was able to administer the fluids and also give her the medications with no problem. Lorrie was gentle with Lilly and on their first meeting, Lilly came right up to her to be petted. Lilly usually took some time to get to know someone before approaching them, so I knew this was a good match. Lorrie knew my concern about Lilly and her health and she would send me pictures while I was away to show me she was fine and doing well along with any updates. I have already contacted Lorrie about needing her services again as I plan to adopt/rescue a cat in the near future from the Humane Society.

Information Lorrie D. would like to know about your pet

I like to know anything that will help me relate to your dog, including age, health issues, meal times, favorite toys, funny quirks, etc. As for breed preferences, there are several "favorites". Pomeranians, chihuahuas, dachsunds, huskies, golden retrievers, laboradoodles, laboradors, .......... well maybe no real preference, I just love them all!

A typical day

I provide regular visits to your pet in your home. I like to walk dogs in the areas they are familiar with, providing their normal routine. I am always up for some ball tossing or endless belly rubs for my furry friends! I love to take photos and send them to my pet parents.
