Luv Ur K9 like Mine, Calm Home

Pet care experience

For furkids who prefer a quiet and calm environment, low energy, special needs and company around the clock. I have extensive experience managing dogs who are blind, battling cancer, degenerative myelopathy, heart conditions, collapsed trachea, hip/leg injury. To keep the current squad comfy and safe, medium-high energy dogs or barkers are not a good fit. I'm a Co-founder of an animal rescue in Honduras, serve as a Human and PET First Aid & CPR Instructor, and work in the health/medical field. I believe in holistic care such as cooking, grooming, nutrition, training during the lifetime of their pets. I am an experienced pet sitter/walker/handler with over 2 decades experience including rescuing and rehabilitating special needs, abandoned, abused, or neglected dogs. Our home is laid back, no kids, and lots of quality time on walks and being with the pack and a dog run on property. ATTITUDE: How I care for all furkids: I lead with a calm assertive mentality, while maintaining laid back and playful vibe so your kiddo can feel safe. 3 walks with stay and have wee pads out for all kiddos as a considerate option. Your furkid will get plenty of play time, multiple walks, hang out with our pack freely and be supervised around the clock (minimum 20 hours). As you will see in some pictures, we occasionally take your kiddos (w/permission) on special trips to places parks, cafes, Hudson River & Central Parks. Baby gates in a safe space away from outlets used for safety during walk rounds or brief errands. I pay very close attention to your pet's health and make their stay as fun as possible while providing TLC. Example: If your dog is suffering from arthritis or difficulty eating, elevated trays are given to help posture and weight bearing. MY PETS: 2 little pekes MEDICATION/SPECIAL NEEDS: Yes-Administering pills, eye drops, ointment, is not a problem.

I was in a tricky situation where I had just adopted a rescue but had to leave town last minute for a work trip. It was stressful to think I had to leave Marble with a stranger when she was just barely getting to know me. Luckily, I found Lorna and we were able to schedule a meet and greet. Her home is basically a palace for dogs, with beds and cushions everywhere, and it was apparent from the start that she was a very experienced sitter. Having been abused in the past, Marble is very skittish and fearful of people, but she took to Lorna right away and I knew she would be in caring hands. I got updates all throughout my trip and she even helped correct some of Marble's behavior during her stay. When I returned, we chatted a bit on some of the behavior patterns Lorna noticed that I would need to watch out for and I got suggestions on how to correct. Since she works in rescue, I really valued her knowledge and advice. Most importantly, I walked back a healthy and happy Marble. I highly recommend Lorna to anyone in need of a sitter!

Lorna took great care of my mini goldendoodle, Rosie, while I was away for 4 days. I'm very picky about who keeps my dog while I'm away. She went above and beyond and sent lots of pictures and updates so I knew how Rosie was doing. I'm so thankful for the great care Lorna showed my baby while I was away!! I will use her again next time I go away and need a sitter. Thanks Lorna!!

Lorna was able to help me look after Brody on very short notice, which I really appreciate! She knew immediately that Brody was nervous in an new environment and took him on a walk to calm him down. She alerted me of his status throughout the day, and gave me helpful advice on getting a safer leash. Brody also seemed to love her two dogs, Buttons and Stitch! Overall, it was a very worry-free experience.

Lorna helped to look after our dog Scooby while we were away, and she was absolutely fantastic! She kept us updated regularly on what he was up to and gave us great advice on how we could continue to work with his behavior. Lorna definitely loves all dogs from the way she interacts with other dogs around the neighborhood. She also kept an eye out for things around our house that we had forgotten to put away before we left our pup. We were very impressed! Look no further if you want someone professional whom you can trust your dog with!

I love all breeds! Being honest and telling me as much details as possible about your dog allows me to be able to anticipate your fur kiddo's needs. Letting me know how dog friendly he/she is, sensitivies, things that make him/her nervous and of course what makes your pooch extra comfortable! Any other information is always helpful in making sure your fur kiddo gets the TLC needed. I cannot accept excessive barking behavior as I do have building policies. Pls be aware that holiday rates +15/day and I stay with them through the holiday booking, it is limited in availability and are applied for the holiday eve, day of, and day after. I usually have booking request 2 weeks to 2 months in advance. We use fragrance free and eco-friendly products for bedding and cleaning to help pets with allergies, please do not bring items saturated in perfumes.

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks Depending on your dog's specific exercise needs and sensitivies, I usually walk to Madison Square Park's park to get away from all the city noise. Don't take dogs to the dog park unless you specify it's ok. If you have a special needs dog or a senior dog that you prefer not walked too often, let me know. Dog run on premise and wee pads training are always available here. Your dog is always on a ONE on ONE walk with me so that he/she gets the most out of her time out. Usually my boyfriend will bring one of ours to double up for company. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Fluffy dog beds laid out in the apartment and Sunbathing chaise/basket always cleaned prior to your dog's arrival. Your fur kiddo will be encouraged to sleep with us freely in the apartment. If he/she is very stressed, we have pressure gate to help alleviate the scariness of a big new space, but generally, some one on one walk time, play time, and belly rubs or treat games help soothe anxiety. Time I'll spend with your dog 18+ hours (I'm always working on dog care and multiple projects from home, and rarely step out unless its a quick meal or coffee run including the weekends. I don't step out for other work unless I am not sitting dogs.
