I have loved and cared for animals of all kinds all my life. I am so passionate about it that I made it my career. I have worked at a veterinary hospital in Slidell, LA as a veterinary technician for the past 4 years. With this experience I can offer a different level of care for your pets, especially those with special needs. I am well versed in response procedures for emergency situations. My high energy, fun loving spirit ensures that I can keep up with your pets, no matter the energy level! Lorna is the best. On numerous occasions I’ve relied on her to help with my pit mix, Peppa, who is just like my baby. There’s no one else I’d rather have take care of her when I’m not around! Peps absolutely loves her.
First, Lorna’s love for all animals is huge!! My dogs, cats, rabbit and pigs absolutely love her and they think it is the best thing ever when she comes over. Second, her love and connection with dogs is very special. We have a husky who immediately begins talking to her when she arrives. And third, she is a veterinary technician! Who wouldn’t want someone with that kind of experience walking and taking care of your animals for you?!?! We love her and her true love for our animals!

I live in the Silver Run community on 5 acres with a pond in the back yard. The yard is not fenced in yet, so I accompany the pets outside to stay close to them and supervise them while they play. I have a Belgian Malinois (Rocket), two cats (Nettle and George), five chickens, and two turkeys. Rocket is very friendly and LOVES to meet other dogs, he has been to the kennel at my work many times and always enjoys playing with the other dogs. He is great with cats as well! My Fiancé is usually around the house as well so there will be two sets of eyes to watch the pets and two sets of hands to give belly rubs!

I would like to know the general disposition of the pet and how they are with other animals. I have experience and get along well with pets of all dispositions so this is really just for me to know what they would prefer and the best way to care for them. I would also like to know of any special needs. I would like to keep their schedule as close to normal as possible so if they are used to doing certain things at certain times just let me know and I’ll make sure we stay on schedule!
A typical day
Your dog will be able to enjoy a fun filled active day when staying with me. We will take leashed walks around my property by the pond or take hikes through the trails around my house. We can also go to the local park and spend time playing. It doesn’t have to be all adventure, though! I know we have to be careful in this Mississippi heat, so there’s always the option of relaxing and playing inside in the air conditioner!

Availability
I am currently available full time as the hospital I work for undergoes renovations. I can walk dogs and have play time as many times a day as you request, or I can sit them at your house for the day. I can also bring them out to my home.
