Pet care experience
Looking towards retirement from 25+ years in hands on veterinary medicine. I have a wealth of experience caring for pets and a desire to continue doing so but in the comfort of my home. Elderly or medically fragile dogs are welcome, including those needing medications oral/injectable or specialty diets. Diabetic dogs are no problem. Your family members will be safe and well cared for with me. I pride myself on being proactive to avoid problems and anticipate needs. Safety is my number 1 priority at all times. I understand it's scary to leave your pet and promise to send frequent updates during their stay.
Reviews
Oscar is always comfortable, well cared for, and happy with Ms. Lorie!
Lorie took great care of our little Poppy! We will definitely bring Poppy again next time needed.
Lorie took great care of our senior dog who has lots of medical needs. She is warm and compassionate and clearly loves all of the doggies as her own. She sent us regular updates and pictures while we were away. We felt like our dog was in better care with Lorie than when we have boarded him at the vet - and he was definitely more comfortable with a home environment. Thank you, Lorie!
Loree took my 2 dogs on very short notice for a week! The daily photos and updates reassured me they were happy and so relaxed. Her decades of working with dogs clearly shows.

Privacy fencing with locked gates surrounds the private yard along with a smaller pea gravel gated area within for those muddy Ohio days. Cameras and a security system monitor the 1.3 acre property at all times. The dogs have no stairs access to the secure yard from my living room for supervised play time so there is no worry of a runaway situation and mobility issues are not a concern to access the yard. Inside your dogs are welcome to lounge around on the furniture. There are plenty of blankets available for snuggling and toys to play with. Having pets of my own I usually do not allow boarding dogs free run of the entire house as the cats find that a bit overwhelming 😉 but if your polite, well behaved pups want to play or just hang out with my dogs that is encouraged. When you arrive there will be barking, probably lots of it 😂 it is usually best to keep drop off brief so everyone can settle in quickly.

Information Lorie T. would like to know about your pet
I do require proof of current vaccinations Dhlpp,Bordetella & Rabies, a negative fecal test as well as flea prevention. If fleas are found during your pets stay a topical treatment will be applied at your cost. **I cannot board pit bull or pit bull mixes due to insurance restrictions.**
A typical day
We have a big fenced yard to play in, a baby pool for the hot summer days or we can hang out and snuggle on the couch. I prefer to not leave the security of my fenced yard with your pets for safety reasons. If the the need arises all dogs will be on double slip leashes outside the fence.

At this time I am still working full time, but am only 4 miles from home so midday potty breaks are not a problem during the week. Weekends I am fully available.
