Your dog's got a friend in me!

Pet care experience

To say I'm just an animal lover is an understatement! Not only have I always grown up the animal lover in my family (from having chickens that sleep in my room to bringing home puppies & kittens all the time), I have even now made a career out of it! I previously worked at Pet Food Express & was a store manager for 8 years with extensive training on all things pet health and care! After Covid happened I realized I wanted to be at home more, so I now work on-call shifts at the pet shop and do dog sitting as a full time job! Pet Food Express gave me all the great tools to care for pets which I am eternally grateful for; I'm your gal for all things pets! I treat animals as family members as they should be. Please make sure to read the additional two sections below for a look into how your pup will be spending their time with me :) You do have to scroll all the way down for the last portion since it is a little hidden. Since I take don't work full time in retail anymore, I have a whole lot of flexibility! When I do work on-call shifts at the pet shop, I keep them short and will at most be gone around 4 hours. Although I am home a lot now, I still can not take in dogs who require constant attention due to seperation anxiety. All pups get their first walk/potty break at 7 am and then taken out every 2-3 hours for the bathroom. We take a longer walk around 6/7 pm around the neighborhood or creek trail! I do not crate dogs unless the owners require it! While I am away, I have a doggy camera that I use to check in on the pups (alerts me to excessive barking as well) and I can even talk to them through it! Which has helped pups out in the past.

Lori is the best! We’ve stayed with her multiple times and are so lucky to have found her, could not recommend her enough.

Lorie was amazing. She dropped in on to check on our dogs a number of days over a couple weeks that we're extra busy for us. She was perfectly on time and took such good care of the dogs, even taking them on nearly an hour long walk! She shared detail notes and cute & hilarious pictures of them playing and lounging. Made a hectic couple weeks stress-free for us.

Lorie was great with my girl. She watched her when she was a pup during Covid and happy to connect again.

Information Lorie R. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know if they were dog aggressive so I could choose the appropriate place to take or not to take them and how they were with people and children! I have no breeds that I would deny, I believe the owners are the ones at fault for misbehaving dogs; no breed discrimination here. *On that note, if you prefer me to watch your dog on their own then I can accommodate that and keep them separate from my own pup; I've done it for many other pets. If your pup is dog friendly then I will have another doggy friend around for play times :)* I would also like to know if the pup had any major separation anxiety and if they bark when there is a lot going on. Separation anxiety can cause dogs to bark nonstop when they are alone for any short or long periods of time, destructive behavior and/or peeing inside. Unfortunately since I either take dogs to work with me or leave them at home (if they're the homey type) I can not take pups who fit into any of the above descriptions of separation anxiety. Normal barking is of course okay, like when someone knocks on the door or playful barking when they're trying to start a party! I also cannot take in dog's who haven't been neutered. Since I do a lot of dog sitting, I have had babysat dogs who have never marked at home that will mark a lot in my apartment. Which then unfortunately creates more smells for the next pup that wants to mark on :( Until I replace my carpet with hardwood floor, I can not take pups that have not been neutered. I also cannot accommodate dogs who frequently mark inside unless I am provided with male wraps. If you know your dog is a high marker even when indoors then I am sorry but I can not take them in. I have carpet and like to have the dogs free roam which would be very difficult to do if they mark a lot. I do not do drop offs before 6:30 AM, they will have to be scheduled for drop off the for the previous day. I also do not do pick ups after 10 PM, they will have to be schedule for pick up the next day. Other than that, my son and I are v v excited to hang out with your dog(s)!

A typical day

To sum it up: Long walks on the creek trail, shopping, dog park, dinner dates! Your fur baby and I could have a night out on the town! I live in a one bedroom apartment that is located in the perfect spot! Right behind my apartment complex is the Los Gatos Creek Trail which is almost like my back yard and from there we can go on walks anywhere from the park where we can just sit and people watch or the dog park where there's pup galore! Not only that but Down Town Campbell is a 15 minute walk from my place (right off the creek trail) and they have all kinds of pet friendly shops and restaurants! Your dog would be able to tag along anywhere in my neighborhood! Or we could be couch potatoes and just watch tv together if they're the comfy type which is pretty alright in my books too! I have a little hamster in a cage that sleeps 99% of the time therefore the dogs that are over barely even know he's there! My 8 year old son stays during the week with me and he also plays a big part in making sure your pup is loved after. I have shown him all the proper ways to approach dogs, act with them, and he's fully educated in doggy etiquette. By the ends of all stays all the dogs we've watched have ended up bonding much more with him! He's a polite boy and quite literally shows how dogs can be boys best friend as I show in my pictures.
