Fur Babies VACATION too!!
Pet care experience
I have been a dog and cat lover for as long as I can remember! As a child we had a collie and a cat. As an adult, I raised two black labs from puppies, had a couple of cats, and more recently I was owned by two adorable pugs. Now I am an empty nester...as of June this year... My last dog has passed away. I have used Rover sitters for my own dogs, and when my last one passed away, being heartbroken, not sure if I want to go thru that again... But I love the company of dogs and cats and would love to take care of yours. Give them a fun time while you are on vacation, so you can have fun with no mommy/daddy guilt at all! I've been retired for a few years now so I am free to take care of your fur babies as if they are my own. I have experience with puppies, middle ages and elder and even sickly dogs. When I was working full time before I retired, I was a nurse's aid in residential homes taking care of people who had been in severe car accidents, so I am naturally a very compassionate care giver with some basic medical experience. We live in a beautiful old farmhouse on 5 acres that is 100% fenced with a 4 foot fence. We also have a small inner yard that is fenced-in off of the back door of our house for those quick potty breaks when the whole 5 acres is not good for the pet to wander in alone. Your pet will never be left to wander the whole 5 acres alone, as I would be watching them and making sure they are safe at all times. We have trails all through our property that I can take your dog for a walk on while they are here vacationing with us at our beautiful home and property.

I cannot say enough good things about Lorie H! Our dog is so comfortable with her after just a few minutes he hardly missed me as I left. I don’t know how to explain the relief I felt by this. He’s a people and puppy dog, but he’s rather clingy (or maybe I am). So to see him so comfortable with Lorie put my mind at ease. I will not only use Lorie H again, I highly recommend her services. I feel very comfortable leaving him overnight! Thank you, Lorie H!
Lori and Rob were great! Messages and pictures the entire time we were gone. He was so happy there and stress free. Would totally book with them again. No longer nervous about leaving Brodie.
Lorie H and her husband took very, very good care of Rupert. Sent us daily pictures x2/3. He loved running in their fenced in acreage!! He enjoyed their company as much as they enjoyed his.💙❤️🙏

My property has lots of trees and some open areas for playing fetch, we also have trails through the woods... flea/tick meds are also highly recommended to keep your pup critter-free. (Please bring medical records.) I need to know your dog's feeding schedule, and I would like you to bring food along so that your dog's tummy doesn't become irritated with non-familiar food. Please bring the contact information for your veterinarian. I do not have dog food here for your dog, so please be sure not to forget bringing their favorite foods. If your dog(s) normally sleeps in a crate at night, I would ask that you please provide their crate and favorite blankets/toys. We live only 5 minutes from the center of West Branch and we are West Branch residents, so we are close if this is your town too. If you are passing through West Branch, we are very close to I-75 and would be happy to meet you at either of the exits!

Before your pet stay I need to know if your dog has any special dietary needs or allergies. What are some of their regular routines so they feel the most comfortable while they stay here with us.
A typical day
Walks, hiking and playing fetch - I can do all of these with you high energy pup. We hike at Ogemaw Hills or walk at the track in town, and of course we have a 1/2 mile loop of trails here at our house. We also have large lawn areas that can be used for playing fetch.

Availability
I am a stay at home wife, retired from being a nurse's aid, so I will be able to keep your fur babies safe and happy while you travel and or work. I also love to take walks and go hiking regularly, so if you have a pet who loves to go for walks, we can make that happen! If your fur babies like to play fetch we can do that too!
