No such thing as too much dog!

Pet care experience

I’m Lorie, a former doggie foster who is now mom to a very adored dog, Basia, a Norwegian elkhound; and two beautiful cats, Daisy and Koi. I have also raised two other dogs and two other cats, all of whom are now angel pets. My daughter and I fostered dogs for Critter Cavalry Pet Rescue for about 3-4 years, and I have been dog sitting on Rover since spring 2023. I have a real heart for animals, and in my care your pets will be treated exactly the way mine are—like family. I have been a homeowner in the Bellevue area for 23 years, and am also a small business owner in the community. I live within walking distance of the Harpeth River Greenway and can take long walks with the dogs on nice days. Alternatively, I live on a quiet corner with a dead-end street on one side that is a great place to walk as well.

Lorie is the best! Our dog loves her, gets so excited when we pull in. She gives him so much love, lives in a very dog friendly house and has many places for him to snuggle up. Lorie sends daily photos and updates and is very responsive.

Hi all! I have an old gal named Gracie--14yrs old. I had never used Rover before and had a last-minute work trip. I had to drop the dog off in the evening and pick the dog up in the evening. I decided on Lorie because I saw she was close to my place and was quick to respond and super friendly--and am I ever glad that I did! From the time you walk into her adorable house...you feel at ease. She has the sweetest dog of her own that is 12. I know my dog is older and a lot of work..meaning has her quirks-- and was over the top scared when I dropped her off...but Lorie figured it out and sent a pic--and let me know that the dog was doing just fine. If you want a great dog sitter who you can genuinely tell loves animals-- this is the perfect pet sitter! Thank you again, Lorie! We hope to see you again soon!

I have crates if needed, dog beds, and bowls of varying sizes at my home; I only need you to bring your dog’s food and any special items like supplements or a special lovey that you’d like them to have. My yard is not fenced, so I ALWAYS use leashes and/or harnesses, no matter what. I live on a quiet, safe street in a neighborhood with a lot of walkers and bicyclers.

Information Lorie A. would like to know about your pet

Let me know your preference regarding crating, what your dog’s normal sleeping arrangements are, whether your dog has any food allergies or sensitivities (or dislikes), and whether you are ok with a little people food as a treat now and then!

A typical day

I have a variety of different types of toys for playtime, and I also have a large backyard that dogs love to explore. When I leave the house, I play soothing music for the dogs, and at bedtime we have an ambient light and sound machine to calm everyone down and get them ready for sleeping.
