I'm I grew up on a farm in Iowa, and have lived and worked in many countries around the world. As a result, I've interacted with both traditional and non-traditional pets. On the farm we had pet geese, ducks, horses, and adopted a calf and pig or two along the way; in my travels we had cats, a chameleon who parked itself in a tree and wouldn't leave, a duiker rescued from a market, and assorted animals and reptiles that would wander in and out . Upon our return to the USA my kids and I became the proud owners of 2 dogs, a chinchilla, and a hamster. I often turn to my sister, the Veterinarian, for pet advice.
