Having pets myself one small friendly dog and cat with no front claws, I know how to care for a small cat or dog basics. They must be fed nutrients and let out doors to run free in a nice secured yard to avoid acting out. And inside the can rest with the family during movie time separately if not friendly. And if they have an accidental potty anywhere indoors, it's important to be gentle speak to the little animal in a loving way, that it is a no no. And never yell at animals because they are sensitive. Also, it's important to pay attention to feeding time, plus have plenty of fresh clean water stations set up for animals to be well hydrated.
