I’ve known Lora for almost 6 years now and she’s always had a special kind of connection with the animals. I worked with her at a petting zoo last year and we had chickens, ducks, goats, a pig, and several bunnies, all of which needed their own special attention. Even with not knowing much about farm animals, she was able to keep their pen clean, their bowls full with the right kind of feed, and their little hearts happy. She mucked the pen each day, and even separated a duck when he got his leg hurt and nursed him back to health. In a petting zoo where hundreds of kids came to see the animals everyday, she was able to show the kids how to approach the animals, and how to recognize when they might need space or feel stressed, and to lovingly control the situation in the animals best interest, but also give the kids an experience they’ll never forget. She’s lived with dogs and cats all her life as well, and when they got old she still did everything to keep them happy and healthy till their very last breath. She’s compassionate, smart, and attentive. She’d be a great fit for a job like this!
