Pet care experience
We've raised calm, confident, courteous, well-mannered dogs over the past 20 years, and performed many last minute dogsits for close friends and family and for the longer stints, the dogs who've stayed with us have been known to learn a few good habits along the way. Our first pair of pups lived out the best of their senior years before gaining their angel wings, and we tend to end up with cats who act like dogs. We live on a green space with wide open spaces (unfenced) rolling hills close to downtown. We have a large fenced (5ft high) dog run which provides lots of room for dogs to chill, eat, sleep, & "earth" between walks. My livelihood grants me the flexibility to manage guest dogs and the indoor space is dog & cat friendly.

Simply put- Lora was awesome!! As a first-time Rover user (and first time leaving our pup with anyone), we were a little hesitant about the entire process. However, Lora put our minds at ease right away during the initial meet and greet. Her sweet and gentle demeanour was evident but also her experience with dogs (especially larger breed dogs). Lora found the perfect balance of communicating while we were away- enough to comfort us with daily check-ins/ updates on how things were going yet not overwhelming with questions or too many updates. Would highly recommend Lora to anyone looking for a dog sitter!
Lora was a great host for our two dogs - a 2.5-year-old golden and a 5-month-old pup. She was very accommodating to our dog's needs and was great with communication and photos. We would 100% recommend Lora and look forward to her hosting our pups in the future!
Pearl had an amazing time! Lora had excellent communication and we felt very comfortable with her. We will be using her again for sure!!
Lora was absolutely awesome with Scooby. Scooby love his stay with Lora and was a happy puppy. Lora was fantastic in keeping us updated

My dogs are outside whenever possible during the days- In the fenced run or on a long tether on the back deck. Come in to sleep, on bed on floor. Must be invited to be up on furniture. On special occasions only. I’ve also cared for complete couch potatoes too. No discrimination, just preference for my own dog as it affects their behaviours in a negative way.

I welcome all sizes and I do quite enjoy the large breeds. I own a set of professional clippers, and willing to help you out in that regard, and give them a haircut/remove matted hair/dreads, bath & groom them for half the cost of anywhere else.
A typical day
We back onto an open park with rolling hills to roam, run, explore and the ultimate fetch throw. We are steps away from the diverse river valley, if you have an avid swimmer on your hands, I'm always up for some getting muddy on the soggy river banks. A practice walk/swim with you present would be required, so I am familiar with your dogs comfort level in the water & how they behave on a leash.

I have a flexible schedule I’m able to plan around the dogs getting what they need for exercise. My job is based around balancing life as needed.
