I am a foster for CBHR (Carolina Basset Hound Rescue) that fosters and finds forever homes for Basset Hounds and Basset mixes. Proud to have fostered 4 dogs this last year that are now in forever homes (including Lucy and Ethel, a bonded pair, in my profile pic). I also love pet sitting for friends and family and have watched 7 family/friend pets just in the last 6 months. Ironically allergies keep me from owning a dog full time but I love to foster and sit as much as I can so that I can get my fair share of time with them.

Lon was great! Bear and I saw immediately he was a dog lover. He took a few minutes to get to know Bear and we had a delightful conversation. Bear came home from his walks a very happy dog.
Whenever we go out of town, Lon is always the first call we make to watch our dogs and he never says no. His flexibility and genuine care for our pups is one of a kind. We’ve known him for years and his passion and care shines through with each and every interaction.
Lon is as trustworthy as they come. Whenever he is watching someone’s dog he goes above and beyond and treats them like part of the family. He follows all care taking instructions meticulously to make sure you can have peace of mind that your dog is in good hands. I have a fenced-in yard at home and no other pets full-time. I have experience with leash training, crate training, and other behavioral activities. A lot of the fosters I have worked with through CBHR come in with minimal house or crate training so I am used to things being a work in progress. The better trained your dog is, the better, but I understand things happen. I have total respect for owners and how they like things done. I will always follow your requests and methods for your dog and will not deviate from any plans unless absolutely necessary.
