Care for dogs, cats, birds and more
Pet care experience
I walked rescue dogs with my family and looked after strays as a child before we even had family pets. I regularly walk the dog of a disabled family member and am used to animals of all temperaments, including with moderate separation anxiety. I often dogsit for friends and have also undertaken several catsitting jobs, where I have fed, played, cleaned up after up to 2 cats at a time, and also given one cat oral medication. I also have experience with birdcare from living with a breeder and ornithologist. I aim to provide the best service possible for both pets and their people.
Reviews
Lois is great with my dog Toast! They love to play together and I always feel able to trust Lois with looking after him whenever I need. She takes him out and sits with him in the house, whatever he needs to be happy!
Lois is wonderful with both my cat and dog, in fact Frasier, my snooty cat will only ever sit on her lap, never mine. Reliable and trustworthy
About Lois A.
Skills
Safety, trust & environment
I am meticulous about safety, making sure there are no hazards around the house: eg, obstacles, exits or harmful chemicals. I carefully observe pets' behaviours and habits, so that I'm aware of any potential signs of changes in health or mood. I also have a DBS check.
Information Lois A. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your pet has any special needs or particular habits/behaviours such as seperation anxiety. I'll need to know their feeding and toileting routines, likes and dislikes, and how it feels around other dogs. As I am quite petite I could only look after bigger dogs which do not tug on the lead.
A typical day
I can take your dog on walks of whatever length they require, play with toys with them, give them pets, or take them to dog friendly cafes etc. if they enjoy that environment. I know plenty of parks all around the city, from Eaton park to Mousehold Heath and the University.
Services
Lois can watch in your home
Availability
I am currently a freelancer so I have plenty of time to spend caring for your animal. I am very flexible and can drop in on your pet on mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holiday periods.
