Dog lover and math nerd!

Pet care experience

I think that safety first has to be a top priority when interacting with animals! They are vulnerable in our care and it is up to us to constantly monitor the environment for safety and anticipate their needs as they come up (and know to look for signs that an animal is trying to communicate something!) I adore being around animals, especially dogs, the energy, warmth, and gentleness that dogs bring is so invaluable to me! I grew up with dogs of all sizes and temperaments throughout my life and all they needed was a different approach and they all had so much love to give! I have experience with a Giant Schnauzer, a dachshund (own first dog!), many many labs, the smartest German Shepherd ever, and the sweetest Pitbull I ever met. Given my background with a variety of animals (I am from rural Siberia originally, so all the farm animals, and I was very much a horse-girl while living in Texas), I am quite comfortable around animals and fear doesn't play a role in my interaction with them. I have been pet sitting for years and while it was certainly a source of some additional income, it was a wonderful experience getting to know each dog and owner and getting to come and see how the animals are growing up over time. I try to practice being a caring/empathetic and enthusiastic person, which works out wonderfully in interactions with dogs.

We booked Liza for drop in visits while we were away for an overnight trip to NYC. It was the first time we tried Rover and trusted someone in our home with our pups. We have a 7 year old Puggle who is very comfortable staying home and we had just adopted a 9 week old Corgi who was just getting used to his new home. Liza came for the visits we had requested every few hours and sent me pictures to ease my mind. It was obvious when we returned home that they were very well taken care of. Before we booked with Liza she cane to our home to introduce herself and meet our dogs. It was obvious as soon as she walked in that she was a dog lover and immediately sat down on the floor and started playing with them. We would book Liza again!

Liza's energy is perfect for my golden. She is extremely enthusiastic about being with the dogs and doesn't do it "like a job". She also helped me get over my trust issues from previous bad experiences by constantly providing real time updates. Also expect tons of cuddle selfies. Thank you Liza

I don't offer services in my home unfortunately due to the other residents in the home. If you are comfortable with me transporting your dog in my car, I would keep him/her in the back or in a crate, or in any other way that you are most comfortable with and be sure to keep the windows at least halfway down (or completely down at your preference/comfort level of course!

Information Liza I. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know if your dog has any triggers (colors/noises/animals/cars/etc), so that I am aware and can make them feel as comfortable as possible! I would like to know any history of reactivity with other dogs as well as people (I would never punish your dog, but I would like to be extremely preventative in terms of running into something that would be upsetting and also to make sure to have plenty of distractions on hand in case I do). I would like to know what has worked in the past to comfort your dog in case something abrupt and unexpected happens. I would do the research on the breed beforehand to get a better understanding of what to expect.

A typical day

I would like to get to know from you depending on the breed and temperament of your furry friend what would work best! I am happy to take your dog to a park for some exercise, but I do want to be wary of the heat, so I will be monitoring weather forecasts and making sure to pay close attention to how your dog is handling the heat at all times! I have access to a car and I really enjoy long walks, so depending on your preference and knowledge of your dog and what is preferable for them, I am flexible! I am happy to repeat some exercised and commands with your dog or to play fetch in your backyard, I would just need to know what your dog is accustomed to and what the commands and appropriate responses are.
