Animal lover, house sitter, friendly gal 🐶🏡

Pet care experience

My family is full of dogs and I have spent most of my life around them. I trained my parents dogs and frequently go on dog walks when I’m visiting. I’ve also dog-sat for friends and neighbours previously, including staying at a friends house while they went away.

Liz is so kind and caring and my two rescue pointers warmed to her really well. Both are special needs with anxiety, reactivity and needing nappies due to past abuse and she was so patient and kind gaining their trust. We had regular updates and she calmed our anxious dog when she woke due to the storms

Liz has looked after our dogs twice now, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her. She asked attentively about each dog, as they have different needs, and kept me updated with photos and messages throughout the day! Both dogs were clearly very happy, and relaxed and well looked after

Liz is a lovely exquisite person and my dog was drawn to her energy immediately. This was the first time my dog has been with a sitter and Liz provided us with updates, pictures and ensured he was relaxed and didn't miss us too much while we were away. I would definitely use Liz's services again and would recommend her.

Liz looked after our cockerpoo Maddie for the whole day and we were very impressed. We met her before and she is absolutely lovely. It was also obvious how natural she was with dogs. Maddie loved her. On the actual day, Liz kept in contact and sent us lots of pictures. We came back home to a very happy dog. We would hesitate to use Liz again in the future!

I think it’s important that a dog (or dogs) feel comfortable and like they have a safe space while they get to know me. So I think it’s better for them to stay in their home. I think it’s also a very good idea to first meet them on a dog walk with yourselves so they get used to me in a setting they like. I give them time to get used to me, offer treats, love and toys and if you let them sleep on the bed that works for me too. Otherwise whatever your preference is, I will follow

Information Liz W. would like to know about your pet

It is good to know what they are like on a walk and around other dogs. One of my parents dog is not a big fan of other dogs so I know how to be wary of meeting others on a walk and how to try and avoid a conflict. But it’s good to know if this could be an issue.

A typical day

When it’s the first time meeting I like to spend time getting to know them, make sure they’re comfortable with me in their space.I also like to practice the commands you’re using with them. Then lots of play, cuddles, a nice walk, maybe a few treats, or even a hide the treat game to keep them stimulated.

I work full time and I go to the office every day. I’m free week day evenings from around 5pm, and weekends are flexible. I can do overnight Friday until Sunday. I cannot offer weekdays as I work full time in the week, and it is too complicated for me to manage.
